This was our second stay at the hotel. The first stay was about a year ago. This time we booked a suite in the older section of the hotel ("historic section") because nothing was available in the newer side. We were traveling as a couple with our teenaged son. I booked a two room suite with a living area (no... More

A friend and I took an impromptu weekend trip to Newport, RI. We stayed at the Newport Beach Hotel and Suites property, in the Suites Building. Our room was a king suite. There were three separate rooms - bedroom with king size bed and a nice big TV, a bathroom with a whirlpool tub and a living room/dining room area... More

My husband and I decided to spend a weekend here for a pre-Valentine's Day getaway. We were so thrilled with our decision. We booked a waterview King bedroom and upon our arrival received an updgrade to a King room with a two person jacuzzi tub. The room was beautiful and VERY clean! If I had to make one complaint it... I read the other reviews on this property before going and I am glad that I checked. We got the hotel on Priceline but then paid for an upgrade to a 1 BR Suite. The Suite was BEAUTIFUL. The bathroom was huge and had a huge bathtub. The bedroom had a huge bed and the bed was comfy. The living... More

getting away from it all is simply not as easy as it used to be. Cell phones, internet...that's why when I go on vacation shutting everything down is key. Travelling for business i have all the brands down to a T, including the smell when you walk in the lobby. How do they get the hotels to smell the same?... More

We've stayed here three or four times over the past four years and I can honestly say it is not as nice as it used to be. The lobby does have a very musty smell that is very noticeable. The bar seems to be empty most of the time. There were no laundry bags in the closet, had to go... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few days before he started Navy OCS. We booked our room through a "name your price" website, and were given a standard room with two beds. We were offered an upgrade to a king room with a jacuzzi for $20 a night. Yes, please! Our room was a corner room on the... More

We had a sea view room on first floor of main building, very comfortable, great views. We were there Columbus weekend and were glad to be out of centre of Newport, but walkable in twenty minutes, straight road. Also a good location for the Cliff Walk. We did not pay for parking Great bar/restuarant staff. Food was fine.

I stayed at the Newport Beach Hotel and Suites with my family and loved it. The hotel is directly across from Newport Beach and next to the town resevoir. The views from my room were spectacular. On one side was the beach on the other side was the reservoir which is a really nice wild life area. I am not... More

The positive reviews puzzle me. The hotel was dingy, smelly and damp - all under the guise of "historic". The bed was hard as a rock, pillows the size of throw pillows on my couch. Put it this way - my husband and I checked in around midnight after a long drive, proceeded to our room and promptly returned to... More
