This is a favorite place of mine to relax and just have a bucket of clams and a beer. Can't beat the view of the harbor and the people are usually pretty nice. I have not stayed hear but would recommend it based on the quality of the restaurant.

My husband had a great banana mudslide and bacon, swiss & mushroom burger on the patio out back with our golden retriever, it was perfect. The service was attentive and the food was great. We split the burger, it was huge & substituted sweet potato fries, yummay!

The National has excellent seafood. I have eaten there several times over the past 15 years and it is always good. We were there in July- food was still amazing. No complaints. Highly recommend. Location is in the heart of the downtown across from the ferry station. We did not stay in the hotel.
