This was our 2nd stop on our way from Melbourne to Sydney, the room was comfortable but a bit dated. The staff were friendly. There is a restaurant attached but we didn't try it. more

We stayed there one night with baby. We came to hotel quite late and they were waiting for us. Restaurant was already close, but they were willing to cook something for late dinner. The couple who owns that place was so great and also the lady in the kitchen. Rooms was spacious, modern and with toaster, minibar and FREE internet. more

Came to the Whale with colleagues to stay the night before a fishing trip. Having just come from a week of 5 star hotels in Melbourne and Sydney I didnt expect much. Was very surprised. The rooms are clean but each is very different in size and ammenities. (We had 4 spearate rooms all very different.) Whilst not a big... more

I confess to being a "view freak" so I found it hard not to be impressed with the Whale with its magnificent hilltop position overlooking the ocean, shore, inlet entrace, lagoon, mountains etc. Our room was a tad dated but spacious with plasma TV and kitchenette and no significant problems. The large balcony with table and chairs really made it... more

We are from the US on vacation in Australia and we planned to drive from Sydney to Melbourne. After a beautiful drive down the coast we stopped at the Narooma information center and asked about a place to stay for the night. My travel book mentioned the Whale, so I asked about it. I love the information centers in Australia!... more

We arrived at the Whale Moter Inn around 6.30pm after a long days drive from Sydney. We hadn't pre booked and were advised that they only had one room left which was a suite at $155 per night. Although the size of the room was good and we had a balcony all be it overlooking the carpark the overall decour... more

To be fair I only booked 6 weeks before staying but we got the last room available and it was called a executive suite. It was still $190 per night. I was not told it did not have a view except trees, it did not have a bath/spa and I'm not sure how it can be 4 star. It was... more

Not only a great location with glorious views over the Wagonga Inlet and towards the sea, but also large and well furnished rooms and an excellent breakfast. All this is trumped by the kindness and care of the owners who were helpful in every possible way. I would certainly not stay in any other place in the region. Jorg Monar,... more

Everyroom has a view. Narooma itself, is a lovely spot and well worth the stop for a few days. We saw manta rays, enormous urchins, bellbirds and more. The Whale Motor Inn is easily the best hotel in town. It was quiet, spacious and very well kept. We had booked a family room and were given a two room suite,... more
