Buttervilla deserves every accolade it has received. An oasis of calm, it is perfectly situated to experience the delights of South East Cornwall and all that Cornwall and Devon have to offer. Our one night stay involved a fabulous lunch at Jamie Oliver's 15 at Watergate Bay overlooking the beach and wonderful chilli crab claws in the evening at the... More

Before I start I should point out that we stayed in a number of B&Bs in Cornwall on our visit and had chosen Buttervilla because it seemed to be similar to the other B&Bs we had booked. Sadly this was not the case, perhaps I had expected too much but for £85 per night I had hoped for a comfortable,... More

Just returned from three wonderful nights at Buttervilla. We booked the accommodation for the end of our Cornwall holiday as we were attending a wedding nearby and were so very pleased we did. Gill and Robert are brilliant hosts and alongside the delicious breakfasts they also offered very expert advice about where to eat and places to visit. Buttervilla feels... More

or just relax and admire the scenery For foodies like us, the landlady recommended always the best place to eat. The Buttervilla as your starting point for excursions to so many places of interest is very convenient. Our days were dramatic, outstanding, delicious and unforgettable. Having visited the website and read such positive reports on Tripadvisor we expected great things. We were staying as we were going to a wedding nearby and were told when booking that as it was holiday season there would be a 3 day minimum stay. We had originally wanted to book 2 nights but accepted this as we thought it... More

The old farm house is off the beaten track but easy to find. Jill was a very welcoming hostess, full of local knowledge and recommendations as to where to go and where to eat. The room was very comfortable with adequate heating although the stairs to reach it were very steep. It was a nice touch to have a bird... More

We stayed in this farmhouse because it was very close to a party we were attending. It is an old farmhouse but the room and shower were very clean. The breakfast was excellent but no porridge was available (something I have every day). It had free wi-fi (essential for me these days) and good tv reception. Take a torch if... More

My partner and I spent two days at Buttervilla to attend a wedding. A large number of the other guests stayed at the Travel Lodge in Saltash. The extra £25 a night we spent was well worth it by all accounts. The breakfast is excellent, the beds very comfortable, the location is relaxing and the owners friendly but unobtrusive. The... More

Great place to stay to access the quieter South East of Cornwall. Great setting, lovely food and very comfy bed. Great start to the day to lie in bed and watch the birds on the feeder outside the window- a real chill out. Lovely areas of the garden to sit in and have a cup of tea. More

If you're looking for a chi-chi boutique experience, then walk on by ... on the other hand, if you're looking for home-from-home comfort, lovely hosts, fantastic food and a location which takes your breath away, then Buttervilla is the place for you. My husband and I have just stayed for three days and didn't want to leave. A few of... More
