We stopped off at the Swan for a much needed lunch and some shelter from a very cold day's walking around beautiful Inkpen. The staff were very friendly and the food delicious! Just right to power us up to Combe Gibbet in the afternoon in the snow! More

My wife and I stopped here for a light lunch and a pint. We received a great welcome from the landlord, the excellent beer was locally brewed and we each enjoyed a lovely, wholesome and hot bowl of soup, just the thing for a cold winter's day. The hospitality that we received and the quality of the food, makes us... More

We had a few hours to spare between the Christmas market at Highclere Castle and our dinner reservation so were driving around looking for a pub to have a quiet drink and shelter from the elements. We stumbled across The Swan Inn and were welcomed inside by Bernard and Andy. We sat next to the open log fire for the... More

I have had many dinners here over the years and one or two lunches and consider the food outstanding for a village pub not easily found. As well as English pub favourites It has now moved from Middle Eatern specialities to Italian food under different chefs but the high standard remains. The atmosphere is very calming and a good range... More

I recently organised a staff Christmas Lunch here for over 30 people - Tomas the manager was very helpful and efficient in the pre-event arrangements and all the staff were very helpful, friendly and accomodating on the day. The food was traditional Xmas Fayre as was ordered and the quality of food for such a large party was very good.... More

My second stop at this fabulous country inn and certainly not my last. The ambience on this visit on a cold winter night was perfect with the warming fire in the bar. Great real ales from the local brewery and home-cooked organic food . Very friendly hosts and staff. I can recommend the kippers at breakfast! More

A really cozy pub - great for a cold winter's evening. We didn't stay here as we live locally, but had an excellent meal in the restaurant. Their beef is organic, home reared and butchered. My son said it was the best fillet steak he had ever tasted! We shall certainly eat there again. More

The service at The Swan Inn was second to none. The staff were friendly, welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay a comfortable one. We visited on one of the coldest nights this year, but once we told the staff that our room was a little cold, they were knocking on the door with an extra... More

A wonderful pub in a great out-of-the-way location. Very nice, spacious room with good facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. A nice walk available with info for starting and finishing at the inn. (Could use info on other walks in the area.) Local patrons at the pub were few but quietly friendly. The chef was away so didn't have dinner... More
