We stayed here for one night on 7 May in what was claimed to be a Superior room. The room and the bed were absolutely tiny and the two pillows for two people were nasty, cheap foam which made sleep very difficult. Staff were indifferent, not rude, but not at all helpful. A great shame as it is a glorious... More

Six of us stayed here on the 29th April, on a special offer deal which included dinner. The setting and surroundings are beautiful and the location ideal for visiting Windsor. We took our bicycles and the staff readily agreed to look after them for us. In fact we found all the staff very attentive and friendly and they made our... More

Monkey Island Hotel in Bray is on a small island on the Thames. You have to cross a footbridge to get there. The grounds are stunning. It is a popular venue for weddings as a result. My mother always told me that “if you cannot say anything nice, then do not say anything at all”. So I probably should end... More

Dear Guy - thank you for the review and comments you made regarding The Monkey Island Hotel. Having recently started at the hotel as Operations Manager, I read your feedback with interest and as you point out, we clearly have some work to do to improve the service and facilities we have to offer. You are right - we are... More

Stayed here on a Living Social deal of £99 for db&b including glass of bubbly. Room was spotless and looked newly decorated. Other parts of the hotel did look a little tired with the stair carpet in particular needing replacing. We were in room 15 which is the first one on the landing so some noise from other guests going... More

I stayed here overnight with 2 colleagues. When I arrived and saw the hotel on island I knew I was in for a treat. You park your car, walk over the bridge and are met with Peacocks, yes real live peacocks, they were beautiful. Checking in staff were pleasant. The room was adequate and large flat screen tv. Tea and... More

Thank you for the feedback you provided following your recent stay at The Monkey Island Hotel - I am delighted to hear that you had a good experience within the hotel and restaurant. I have ensured that hairdryers are located in each bedroom now - it was a 'strange' practice to request one from reception and having recently started at... More

From the moment we arrived we knew this was a good choice, it looked amazing. Even tho we arrived early the receptionist let us check in, our room looked out on to the river and was a great room. Well the dinner was fab, beautifully prepared and presented, and the breakfast huge and delicious. But we think what really made... More

On a colleague's recommendation I stayed at this hotel verses staying at one of the Heathrow based hotels. I was very pleasantly surprised. Mid week the hotel was very quiet, in fact I think there were only 3 or 4 guests there. Finding it is a bit tricky and you definitely think you are heading the wrong way out of... More

Having read the previous reviews we were a bit concerned about staying at the hotel as we were returning after a 19 year gap, our wedding anniversary when we stayed at the hotel on our wedding night. The hotel is a bit tired in places but the staff more than make up for this. We felt very welcome and nothing... More

Stayed on a two night offer from Living Social, which means value was even better than normal. The hotel is not at all easy to find, and needs better signposting from outside the village. Being told by staff on arrival that they know it is difficult is less than helpful. The hotel has clearly seen better days, but at this... More

My husband and I spent 1 night on a Living Social deal - £99 for dinner, bed & breakfast, which is a fair price. The location cannot be faulted - A small, picturesque island on the Thames complete with 2 resident Peacocks. Be aware that you park one side of the river and then cross a bridge to reach the...
