I booked a night here for my birthday, and a suprise for my partner. Could'nt fault the hotel, deffinately lived up to all the reviews. On arrival they had had a powercut, and hotel reception was lit by candles (very atmospheric), checked in quickly and shown to our room, which luckily still had electric and lightiing. We stayed in "Elm"... more

Thank you so much for your review. I am delighted you had such a wonderful break. The hotel was full, the restaurant was full and we nearly had a disaster when the power was knocked out by the storms that night! Special thanks to the Scottish & Southern Energy engineer that attended and resolved the problem so swiftly.

This was a weekend surprise trip for my wife's birthday. We stayed at Beechfield House with my son and daughter and their partners, and my daughter's 9 month old baby. Rita and I, and my son and daughter-in-law, stayed in the newly refurbished coach house rooms. As she has a new baby, and the coach house is an annex, my... more

Thank you for your kind feedback on your stay with us in one of the new Coach House rooms. More contemporary in style than the main house, I am so pleased you relaxed and enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to welcome you again before too long.

I, along with family and several friends, have visited Beechfield House several times over the last six months. All occassions were for afternoon tea. This is such a quintessentially English meal, and the Beechfield have this off to perfection! Beautiful fresh sandwiches, cream scones and a variety of excellent cakes. The staff have always been wonderful. We visited another establishment... more

Thank you for your kind comments regarding afternoon tea at Beechfield House. I hope you will be back again to enjoy it outside on the terrace when the warm weather returns - and just as enjoyable as in front of an open fire in the winter months!

Hello, I just wanted to thank all the staff at the hotel for making our stay such a lovely experience. We had really bad news before we came on our break and the atmosphere in the hotel was so special that we managed to forget all our worries and really relax and have fun. The kids really loved the outdoor... more

Having just returned from a one night stay at Beechfield House, I feel compelled to let others know about this gem of a hotel. The setting is beautiful, the room (in the Coach House) would rival many 5star establishments I have stayed in, & the staff were very friendly & helpful. It would be a lovely venue for a wedding... more

Had a 2 night stay with friends. Hotel was pretty much as expected. Set in its own well looked after grounds. Coachhouse rooms new and well furnished but ours was a little on the small side. The modern bathroom was up a flight of 4 stairs and the wardrobe had only half the hanging space due to odd size. OK... more

Standing in it's own grounds, this hotel is stunning inside and out and really lends itself to special occasions and romantic breaks as it's highly photogenic. We were there for a golden wedding party for my parents - while we were there, hotel was clearly very busy with what looked like three events - although we only knew this because... more

We recently stayed at Beechfield House for a friend’s wedding reception and while the wedding was lovely our experience was ruined by the treatment we received from hotel reception staff and the less than satisfactory condition of the room we stayed in. On arrival we were told that our room had just been recently decorated – so recently in fact... more

I write in response to the comments made in your review dated 11/09/09. I am very sorry that some minor elements of your room were not complete and that you did not fully enjoy your stay at Beechfield House for the wedding of your friends on 8th August 2009. I am pleased to report that feedback from recent guests has...

We booked the Cherry Room for one night after a weeks camping in rainy, cold weather. We were not disappointed! The room was located in the newly refurbished Coachhouse. We booked a family room in Beechfield house (Sycamore room) for two nights in August 2009 as part of a 10 day tour around the South West of England and can honestly say that it was the highlight of our holiday. The hotel was beautiful, rooms emaculate, and staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent quality. Great base for... more
