My wife made the reservation to stay at this lodge and, from the looks of it on the internet, I wasn't too excited about it. Boy was I surprised! We have lived in Oregon for 50 years and have stayed in dozens of places on the coast. This is by far our favorite. The owners were fantastic hosts. The rooms... More

This place was really relaxing. We had the "Ebb Tide" room, which had a small fireplace, a little kitchenette, and an awesome jacuzzi tub. No view (except for from the hot tub), but a beautifully decorated, comfy room with dishes and snacks. The owners were really nice too. The setting is really lovely on the bay; next time we'll try... This is a magical spot on Nehalem Bay. Wheeler is already situated on a part of the bay that has views, the calmness of the river, and all kinds of wildlife teeming on display. While the exterior of the buildings look like a roadside motel, the interiors are spectacular; roomy and comfortable. There's an upper deck above the river leading... More

Stayed here 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. Me, husband and 2 teenagers. We had the "Suite Sea" room which has 2 bedrooms with queens and a sofa bed in the main room. This is a great location if you plan to fish and crab, which was the purpose of our trip. It has a private dock to keep your... More

This was a lovely place to stay. Our room was medium-sized but full of nice touches--a Jacuzzi, fridge, microwave, etc. The setting right on the bay in a charming little coastal town was excellent. The couple who run the lodge were exceptionally helpful, outgoing and accommodating. (Example: I forgot an extra pillow we had brought into the room when I... More

Wheeler on the Bay Lodge is a great value. Our room was good size with a small kitchen counter with microwave, fridge, and a dining area. We had a tiny deck where we could eat in the morning. Breakfast was included- you can pick three things from a list each day. Generous snacks were provided as well. Kayaks were included in... More

If you are traveling along the coast in Oregon, take the time to visit the cozy & quaint town of Wheeler staying at this lodge. This lovely jewel perches on the very bank of the sparkling bay. It's a great place to put your feet up, relax and contemplate everything or nothing at all. Pleasantly comfortable, ultra-clean and reasonably priced.... More

Wheeler on bay lodge is awesome! We stayed in the 'Tuscany' room and it was a real bargain for the price. The whole lodge is clean and well-kept. Pat and Tracy are some of the best hosts that you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. This was our best Oregon Coast vacation so far and we'll be back again... More

You could not be made to feel more welcome. Clean and tidy rooms by the water. Pat and Tracy make you feel very welcome and will help you out with anything. We used the kayaks for a morning. Lots of towels, tea, coffee. Use the barbies one evening and look over the bay try and spot the Elk. More

We opted for Wheeler on the Bay lodge for our trip to the Oregon coast after reading other reviews - it's so true that the beach is not worth staying on! The coast itself is a little dull, expensive to stay, and filled with annoying tourists. Wheeler is a peaceful little town just a few miles from Rockaway Beach or... More
