My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and chose to visit Seaside and stay at the Gilbert Inn because of the romantic Victorian style indicated in Trip Advisor reviews. Now after staying here, we plan to celebrate our 21st anniversay at the Gilbert Inn as well. From the first moment we arrived, inn keeper and owner Jeannie greeted... More

Gilbert Inn is a very nice, romantic place in Victorian style. The inn keeper Jeannie is very friendly and makes sure you 're ok. It's also nice that she knows & likes to tell about the history of the house. It's these histories that make places like this so much more than just a hotel. There is no breakfast, but... More

My wife and I booked a night a Gilbert Inn as part of a road trip along the north coast and Willamette Valley. I have stayed in the hotels at Seaside many times for conferences and know finding quiet clean and reasonable summer season accomodations in Seaside is tough. The Gilbert Inn is a historical gem of original Seaside character... More

This place is just great, walking distance to everything, 2 mins to beach, 4 mins to food and shops, you can't beat it. The Gilbert inn provided the classic atmosphere of a 1892 house with the modern living and does it all in absolute comfort. Everything down to the coffee cups tell you that you are at a classy place.... More

The Innkeeper, Jeannie was so warm and friendly. She told us alot of history about the Inn. The Gilbert Inn was so charming, and all the rooms were tastefully decorated. The location is perfect! The town of Seaside is within walking distance with shops, and places to eat. We wished we had stayed 2 nights instead of one. We will... More

Both Expedia and the Hotel site do not indicate that this hotel has rooms spread across 3 levels : there is no elevator ! To reach the upper level you have to negotiate 36 Very Steep , Very narrow Steps, with your luggage! If you are older or have any knee problems, you are out of luck ! There is... More

We are sorry the reviewer's stay at the Inn did not meet his expectations. He did make some valid points: It is true that third party booking engines often do not always offer a complete description of listed properties. For that reason we encourage all prospective guests to visit a lodging facility's actual website. There one can see detailed descriptions... More

We found this inn to be immaculate, the location is perfect, close to the boardwalk and although there is a condo resort across the street we did not find it to be noisy. (At least the evening we were there). We stayed in Emma's room, the smallest room in the inn, which was perfect for a one night stay. For... More

Having spent three nights in Portland and the weather having turned nice, we wanted to take a “last minute” one day and night (Saturday in July) side trip to the coast, never having visited the area. Initially, we wanted to stay in Cannon Beach, but finding no accommodation available we checked accommodation in Seaside. Searching on-line, we were very lucky... More

We stayed in the turret room for our first anniversary. This room was beautiful. Immaculate and quaint. So clean. Like others have said, unfortunately there is a huge condo right next door which was under construction when we were there. However, this didn't affect our trip, and we could still see the ocean. I wouldn't disregard Gilbert Inn because of... More

Thank you for your thoughtful review! After you brought the room's hot water problem to our attention we had our plumber service the tank and install new heater elements. We appreciate the feedback! More

I purchased two weekend nights' stay through LivingSocial.Com at nearly half the original price. My wife and I were not disappointed in our expectations. The manager, Jenne ---, was so very welcoming, providing us with a quick history of the Inn, fresh baked cookies, information of the city of Seaside and its offerings, and an offer for a tour of...
