The hotel is definitely not your typical hotel, which is what my boyfriend and I were looking for. But at the same time it is over priced for the tiny rooms and bathrooms...or should I even call them bathrooms? The shower was in the middle of the room and the actual toilet in a separate "water closet" type thing. I... More

Be warned...this is not a normal hotel! It's a statement of 25-30 something hipness and although I had a fine stay at the Ace Hotel, if you expect a standard hotel experience, you'll be extremely disappointed. The rooms are designed to be downward-chic styled to appeal to the young crowd. My room had a spartan bed in the center of... More

Ultra cool, but surprisingly unpretentious, this is a great value-for-money option in Portland. Rooms, while on the small side, were spotless, stylish, and comfortable. Loved the Malin+Goetz toiletries, and the awesome Wings and Horns robes. Shopping is great fun in the Pearl District, topped off with a visit to Clyde Common for some great happy hour cocktails and snacks. Stumptown... More

Very beautiful, detail focused hotel. The environment is very cool and the ambient too. Attention to detail is ver taken care of but...... Beware of multiple bills. I went on a business trip with worldwide colleagues and to pay was HELLISH. I stayed for 3 nights and my colleague from Mexico another 3. I payed 185USD and he payed 125USD.... More

The hotel is fine, it tries too hard to be cool. It reminded me of my old dorm in San Francisco, very minimal, but honestly it is overpriced for a room with a private bath. There are better hotels to stay at in the same price range. I actually love the Ace in Palm Springs, but this one is just... More

I'm really surprised this place doesn't have better reviews on here. My husband and I stayed here in March 2011, and I thought it was a delightful and unique hotel. Our room was an open suite/loft with a large sitting area in one section and a bed in the other. The sink was just to the left of the bed,... More

The coffee shop next door means the place is full of free wifi junkie hipsters trying to get access while clogging up the lobby lounges. they need to improve this! Plus the hotel basically will try to gauge for every additional thing, so come prepared with an open wallet. very expensive for the space you get, but the old Victoria... More

My husband and I stayed at the Ace when visiting my brother in Portland. There's nothing worse than feeling like you've thrown your money out the window. Portland has a ton of lovely and affordable accommodations but we chose the Ace, one of the more expensive hotels in the area, knowing its reputation here in New York. We were quite... More

I am 42, I would never describe myself as too cool for school although I do feel I am somewhat fashion forward. I've read that people find this spot too cool for them, but I did not feel this way at all. We went for the "Stick it to the Man" nov-dec special which gets you a discount on your... More

The Ace Hotel Portland is in a great location, within walking distance of lots of restaurants and sites. It wasn't very fancy, but was clean and comfotable, and very cool. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but my room and a private bathroom (some rooms do not). The sink in the bedroom is a little odd, but... More
