My son and I stayed here in March. We loved the peaceful atmosphere and the sustainable living philosophy. The bed was soft, the room comfortable, the decor entertaining and the old wood flooring lovely. The animals were a really fun touch. I suggested that the website is unclear as to if breakfast is served or not (it's not). There are... More

My son and I booked two nights in the caravan, and then a third night later in the week. We were driving through on our way to California. The caravan was cold and rustic. Only one bed was made and there were no efforts to get us extra linen for the other bed. We were told there were no extra... More

Wonderful unique guest house! The hosts were wonderful and I greeted by their beautiful children who gave me a tour of the garden and introduced me to the ducks and goats. My room was very comfortable and cozy, and I felt welcome to use the other rooms on the main floor as needed. The guest house is in an ideal... More

I had an excellent stay here! The hosts were very friendly. I liked having all of the other guests around and activity. It felt very homey. The kitchen is amazing! My room was quaint. It was the Barn Dance room. The bed was very comfortable. A lot of room to spread out. I just felt very comfortable. The house was... More

Great atmosphere in a location close to restaurants, brew pubs, stores and parks. The urban farm location and theme is most interesting. Accommodations are very nice with shared common areas including kitchen, bathroon, dining room, conservatory and grounds. Beds and bedrooms are very comfortable. The hostess, Caitlin, was very friendly and helpful. I extended my initial stay and have already... More

We stayed her for one night after arriving to Portland pretty jet lagged after a long flight. Caitlin met us upon arrival, which made for a very friendly welcome. There is tea and also muffins, to which you can help yourself during the day. The muffins were amazing and just what I needed after enduring that flight. Our room was... More

My husband and I stayed at Tierra Soul while I went to a conference downtown (and he explored the city). We had an awesome time! Caitlin even picked us up from the airport the night we arrived - an unexpected perk! She was great with recommendations for everything from places to eat and things to do to a great conversation... Portlandish. Pros: Fresh eggs direct from the hens to a pan that never gets cleaned to your mouth. Yummy. Friendly host: Caitlin and her cats. (offered to pick us up at the train station but then she decided otherwise) Hand made soaps. Comfortable bed. Very community minded. Cons: No locks on doors. None in the bathroom either. Umm... no thank... More

Having stayed previously at Tierra Soul and having read other reviews I find the experience of the LA couples unusual and uninformed. The place is exactly as described on the site's web page and all I can imagine is that the sunny Californians arrived during a dreary rainy Portland day and were put off by the neat and clean but... We can't wait to meet you!!!However, we are not a hotel with air conditioning, nor are we a Bed & Breakfast with doilies and syrup-ey sweet hospitality. We are a clean simple Farm community and we love meeting warm, open and creative people. If this all sounds fine to you then this might be a really good fit and we look forward to hosting you.
