I have really begun to love Portland. The newer hotels are really something special. The Nines however is the king-daddy of them all. Good food, happy hour, beautiful people. Surrounding the hotel is a Macy's! The Nines is actually in the same building. Good food, happy hour, beautiful people. My only complaint with this hotel is they use the worst... more

I had very high hopes for this hotel and was looking forward to a relaxing, luxurious stay. Unfortunately, I was fairly disappointed. That said, I can recommend this hotel with these caveats: If you can get a room for a good price through a third-party vendor and you expect, say, a Hilton-quality stay, you'll probably be happy. If you pay... more

I apologize that we fell short of your expectations - please know that we make every attempt to accommodate a diverse clientele. We provide interior facing rooms at a lower price point for those who want to experience the vibrancy that is the Nines, as well as city views for those who prefer a quieter stay. Additionally, we are happy...

It's a good hotel in a great location. I booked online through the Starwood website and got a great rate on a Club-level room. At that price it was a good deal, but if I was paying rack rate I wouldn't be as enthusiastic. Being able to graze in the club lounge over the course of the day made it... more

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I called ahead to ask if I could bring in a special bottle of wine we'd been saving so it could be placed in the room, and the concierge was helpful and polite. I arrived on our scheduled check-in day before noon to drop off the bottle, and... more

I went into this hotel excited to see what it was going to be like, after all, it's billed as one of the top few hotels in Portland. I *wanted* to like this hotel. And, I did like it. I just wasn't blown away by it. Expect good and you'll likely be satisfied. Expect excellent 5 star everything and you... more

The lobby was modern and well-decorated. Check-in was efficient. Stayed on the Club Level for four days beginning New Year's Eve and was not disappointed. Rooms were spacious and beautiful, with very comfortable beds and blackout curtins. The Club Lounge was comfortable, though go early to get your choice of newspapers. Food was fine - breakfast is continental, so don't... more

We book the room on a 3rd party website so the price was very decent, therefore, we kinda worried that they might give us a "lowest quality" room since we paid a very low price, plus we have a dog. Not at all !!! I forgot which floor it was but was not low, and we do have a city... more

This place was odd. Nice hallways, pretty rooms, but we missed the little things, like in-room coffee, morning newspaper...and although there was a duvet cover, we were mystified about the top sheet in the bed, which appeared to be AWOL. Turns out it was. You have to call down and ask for a top sheet to be sent up. Who... more

We decided to stay at The Nines when we got a room for $79 offer from a discount site. The first thing to remember is to be on your toes and have your luggage ready to go as the valet drive-up is on the street and only fits 2-3 cars, so the valets are ready to whisk your car away... more

Thank you for this in-depth and non-bias reflection of your experience at our hotel. I appreciate the many kind words in regards to the décor and amenities, and certainly realize that some of the decisions we made in design and sustainability practices are not considered ‘ideal’ by everyone. The removal of the top sheet, for example, was done in an...

The hotel and rooms are very clean and modern, I loved the decor. The staffs were all very attentive, we feel like they provided five diamond service. The location was great, we went there to go shopping (tax free). It was near al the major store and department stores that we wanted to go to. They were all within a... more
