Although the property looks like it is cleaned and maintained well, it is a good 40 years old and has the smell that cheap motels have after 40 years. We stayed at the Thriftlodge at 949 E Burnside across from the Jupiter Hotel on March 8th, 2006. I was actually scared of what could happen to our car on Burnside because I grew up seeing all the bums and filth whenever we visited that part of Portland.
