We spent a long weekend on the Oregon coast and spent a night at this B and B in late January. We tied the trip onto the tail end of a business call and spent a night in Port Orford on the way back to Seattle. We regret that we only had one night to spend, as Doug and Karen... More

Very lovely place. The rooms are very clean, lots of room, and beautiful property. We stayed 2 nights and the breakfasts were delicious! We enjoyed walking the trails on the property. Loved Port Orford area. Doug and Carol were both excellent hosts. More

This spacious, comfy B&B is located in a lovely, wooded area, an easy walk to a beautiful shore. There are also paths on the property. All the rooms (and I looked in them all) are spacious, immaculate and comfortable. There is plenty of common area with a nice library of books and dvds for use while you're there. Doug is... More

My husband and I were traveling home from a trip to Washington and stayed a the Compass Rose for one night. The hosts have a done a marvelous job creating a very peaceful and relaxing retreat. The room we stayed in was beautiful and very comfortable. The surrounding area is so peaceful. We truly enjoyed our visit. More

We stayed 2 nights and had excellent nights of sleep and delicious (and creative) breakfasts. I can confirm all of the lovely things that other reviewers have said about the owners, the location, and so on. This is a great place and a lovely property with views of a lake, easy access to the ocean, and excellent birding opportunities. The... More

My husband and I stayed one night during a week long bicycle ride down the Oregon coast. We called Doug at 7:30am the day we planned to ride through Port Orford to see if he had a room available that same evening. Luckily for us - he had a room and was very kind and warm on the phone. After... More

All of the above reviews accurate. Too bad more travelers can't spend a few days, rather than one night. Red Fish was a marvelous restaurant - definitely could go back for two nights or to Paula's. My daughter and I shared a room with a VERY comfortable pull out couch. She beach combed; I sipped wine, read, watched birds. My... More

Doug and Karen are warm and friendly and made us feel as comfortable as if we were in our own home. Our room (and all the others; I peeked!) was large and airy and light and the whole facility was very clean and very well maintained and I'm picky about these things. We stayed two nights and although they had... More

I am not sure why someone who has never been to the Compass Rose should write a review, but since they did, I felt I had to respond. If he had read the website more carefully, he would have seen that we do NOT advertise that we are handicapped-accessible. We are WHEELCHAIR-accessible. We have one first-floor room which is completely... More
