The place was nice. Had all the basics. Nice it was on the beach, nice location for the city. Close to the Casino (15-20 min walk or a couple min drive), free shuttle to and from the casino which was nice to avoid drunk driving or paying taxi. The older hotel was freshly repainted, had good queen sized beds, great view, and friendly service. It has a large indoor pool and a modest but tasty continental breakfast. Stayed early December 2011 in a "fireplace suite" room. The reason that we return to Pelican Shores is that the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean (our kitchenette was well-stocked), and the view of the beach (ocean, sea birds, sea lions, etc.) is FANTASTIC. Recommended. More
