Basic cheap hotel except, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and not falling apart. The bed wasn't the best, but for the price, and for one night, it was fine and dandy. more

We love this place and stay on the second floor facing the river. It Is Magic. Lori, in the office, was Most gracious and helped me with a problem that saved us a Lot of stress. Again, we love this place and it has restaurants nearby too. more

We have stayed here twice in last two months and each time we ahve been very pleased. The last time we had a great view and wonderful fireplace. It was so peaceful. The people are great and the room was clean. This is an older property so it is not like a modern hotel, but it is charming. We'll be... more

No toiletries, no coffee, very uncomfortable bed and old towels. The noise from upstairs was constant from 3:30 to 9:30 pm. Had to complain, but were told they can't discriminate against unsupervised kids?? Aw well never again. Also took me for 100+ night. more

I read the reviews and knew this wasn't the good looking motel from the outside. It's about the same on the inside. Spider webs were all over the room and outside. I felt like we were camping in a log cabin. The view is okay but it's not worth paying extra for the view. We paid extra for a view... more

My parents ( who were world travelers) first discovered the Vagabond when they came to visit us in Hood River. They stayed there many times and were always happy. I have recomended for years to friends and family and everyone has enjoyed it. We live in an old farm house that occasionally runs into problems with plumbing electricty, etc. Whenever... more

We stayed for one night at the Vagabond in late August. It was such a charming little place. We had a 2nd floor Riverview Room. Beautiful view of the Gorge and River, wow! The rooms were older in style but very clean and neat. The grounds of the property are also really pretty. We drove the 2 miles into downtown... more

What an amazing find! Perfect location right on the Columbia River. Great views out of the rooms and on the grounds. Dedicated Housekeepers and very reasonable prices. Don't judge a book by the cover because from the outside it kind of looks like a dump and it is old. But, it is well maintained. Everything worked. And the Housekeeping not... more

My first impressions of this hotel was not really enthousiastic but I was suprised by the nice, clean rooms overlooking the river. We even had a nice balcony. So no complains on the rooms, the staff etc. The downside is that you need a car to get to the town centre or a restaurant. more

Our car had trouble in Hood River so we were forced to spend the night there at the last minute. We stayed at the Vagabond Lodge because it was close to where we were. I was skeptical on first appearance but the room we were given was clean, big and had a great view of the river. The staff was... more
