We stayed here in July 2011. We had a wonderful two nights and favorable responses are absolutely correct. We stayed in the cabin rooms behind the hotel. We did not experience any bed bugs, but did experience a massive amount of mosquitos..Hoping that the other review had mosquito bites also! Do no pass by this hotel. It is a gem.... More

People are often surprised (and scared, too) by the isolation one senses in southeastern Oregon. Gas and accommodations are scarce, befitting the small population living there. Frenchglen has around eleven residents, for example. If you're seeking a variety of amenities (shopping, touristy attractions, et cetera) this is NOT your area. But, should you seek solitude, wonderful landscapes, and lodging sans... More

Oasis in the middle of nowhere. Good rooms, shared bathrooms, serviceable family-style meals. Proprietor could be a little warmer. A second place in town would be useful to provide some competition. More

I've passed by the Frenchglen Hotel many times but decided this time to stay a night as part of a multi-day tour of Oregon on motorcycle. I could have stayed at a chain hotel in Burns, but I was craving something different. This hotel has so much history and is located in a part of Oregon that very few people... More

Wow what a trip to Frenchglen. Arrived at the "hotel" and were booked into room "A" which are the rooms behind the hotel. Unpacked, showered, walked the streets, had a "family style dinner". Bed time . . . woke up the next morning-ew my legs itched, were red and swollen. BED BUGS! My husband also experienced the same thing. I... More

Thank goodness the state of Oregon recognized the need to preserve this little piece of history! My 92-year-old dad had been here ages ago and wanted to return, and I am so lucky to have gone with him on the trip. The historic hotel (actually, it is younger than my dad) is pretty much the only thing in Frenchglen. What... More

My wife and I stayed at the Frenchglen Hotel in July 2011 after many long miles on our tour bike. John was a very gracious host and full of information. After a full day in the saddle the quiet hotel with soft, summer breezes and a comfortable bed was exactly what we needed. Breakfast the next morning was superb with... More

This place was a great place to stay, it was perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was very kind, and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. More

This quaint hotel is located at the edge of a town with a population hovering at 14 or so people. It has a an enclosed porch and small park next door where one can sit watch the sun go down over a lovely panorama. The rooms are adequate. The food is earthy and delicious, served family style. It is almost... More

We went to Frenchglen from Paisley area and stayed the night, communal dinner was superb (prime rib), walked down the road on a dark night and the stars in the sky were like diamonds you could reach out and touch. Second time was down from Portland with enjoyable time seeing Steens Mountain (not Mountains) and the spectacular scenery, also the... More
