Our stay at Peppermint lodge was wonderful. We were lucky enough that it had been raining, so the bush smell was sweet and animals were out and about. The views were beautiful, sunrise from your bed is amazing. The accommodation was neat and tidy, though the drop loo was a bit of a surprise.

Thankyou for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Our toilet is a composting nature loo. As live in a rural area we rely on rainwater which we collect. Instead of flushing this resource down the toilet this system allows us to conserve our tank water. It is completely free of chemicals and odours and is a closed... More

After reading all the reviews, well I can say we were greeted by a note, a unlocked cabin, yes the aromour of fresh bread was amazing.. The accomadation was clean, the views amazing, the milk was out of date, the coffee offered was lumpy and furry.. Trivial yes, but when your hanging for a coffee, it's important. The views are... Thankyou for taking the time to review our accommodation. We live on the property and on occassion we aren't able to be there from 3pm onwards when people check in. In such case we always leave a note with details on which studio our guests will be staying in and our mobile phone numbers should they need any assistance. I... More

This place is sublime! The accommodation is unique and luxurious. The interior is so different but awesome I cannot even describe it so will just post a picture instead. The views from the studio right down to Bruny Island are magnificent and this is what you wake up to from your bed in the lift upstairs. Warm fresh bread is... More

Pictures can lie - taken from a particular angle, the average can look awesome. (and vice versa). The pictures of Peppermint Ridge look awesome - and they lie. It wouldn't matter how good a photo you took, it doesn't prepare you for the amazing outlook this place offers. It doesn't prepare you for the understated attention that the hosts have... More

This is a wonderful location with outstanding views. The accomodation was very good - we enjoyed our stay and admired the work that went into building this eco-friendly building. I'm sure our American friends will be talking about the eco-toilet for some time to come, but we can't say it bothered us - and definitely didn't smell at all (which... More

Our family of 4 (children 12 and 9) spent Christmas week 2011 with 2 other couples at Peppermint Ridge Retreat. We occupied both studios. Overall, the location, quality of apartments and attentiveness of the hosts was excellent. On arrival, and upon asking where we might purchase a Christmas tree, Albe packed us all up, and we followed him to a... More

We stayed with our two young children for just one night...we wished we stayed longer. The studios were stunning with huge catherdral ceilings, wall to ceiling windows on the two front "walls" and incredible views of Bruny Island and the channel. It was so relaxing to sit with a glass of wine on the balcony after a day on the... More

Stunning views, quirky design and great extras to keep you fed without needing to leave home. Be prepared for the 'eco friendly' toilet right near the kitchen and lounge though which means you need to keep toilet door shut as under the normal looking toilet seat is a large hole in the ground where ever bodies waste sits and decomposes....
