Based in the quant little coastal town of Swansea, the stand-out B&B is "Freycinet Waters". Excellent friendly hosts originally from Kent UK, has made this cottage into a spectacular 3 room B&B. Great room (#2), superb view across the water facing East, easy parking on site, excellent breakfast, quiet although on main road. Walking distance to all eateries. Even a... More

We stayed 2 nights her and received a very warm welcome. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. The room had a fridge and a lovely touch was the carafe of port to relax with in the evening. There were also a couple of seats and table outside our door for us to relax outside on. We... More

Lovely little B & B, only four guest rooms. Sparkling clean, verandah with water views, tea, coffee and even a carafe of port to warm the cockles. A very nice traditional cooked Aussie breakfast. A pleasant hours drive from wineglass bay, a must see.

This was our first stopover in tasmania and we were not disappointed. Very warm welcome and good breakfast. Our room overlooked water. The room was very cosy and had all the amenities . The owners were very helpful in guiding us to our next destination . The hotel and food were close by which made our night even more convenient.... More

We enjoyed our one night stop over whilst travelling the eastern coast. Our room (no. 1) was cosy and well furnished with a very comfortable queen bed, but some might find it rather too small for an extended stay. Bed linen and towels were of good quality. The en-suite bathroom (shower only, no bath) has been formed within the original... More

We spent one night as we travelled from Hobart to the Bay of Fires, and since it wasn't a long drive from Hobart, we got to spend several hours in the afternoon and evening in Swansea. Freycinet Waters is on the main road through town. We had a nice stroll around the golf course to see the birds after checking... More

We loved the authenticity of this place. Attentive and friendly service. Good recommendation with a local Duck Out down the road providing travellers with wholesome healthy meals. Great views over breakfast with homemade house specialities. Karen's sense of humour made it all the more enjoyable.

Before we even arrived in Tasmania, during the booking process, Karen emailed me forth and back suggesting me the best routes to drive around the island. She provided detailed timeframe with expert local knowledge. Much thanks to her, we changed our overly ambitious plan and had a wonderful Easter holiday. Freycinet Waters was my favourite accommodation during two trips to... More

We don't like B&B's which is why we decided to book the apartment on the first level, as opposed to a B&B room. But it still felt like I was staying at my long lost aunties house, who I'm not overly fond of. On booking we were informed that there would be provisions for a full cooked breakfast but when... Traffic noise, ok brekkie, pretty comfortable bed. Location is good. The owners were a mixed bag. Got the impression it was all about money, which I guess is why my credit card got charged a bit more than I agreed to pay. Not enough to challenge, but enough for others to be wary. Bob seemed pretty nice. Karen seemed to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Freycinet Waters is in the heart of Swansea village. Everything is within an easy flat walk. Our property looks across the road to the delightful Great Oyster Bay. Water views can be found from most rooms and definitely from the breakfast room. Eat a filling 'English' breakfast while gazing out at the water. A great way to start the day. For those who are adventurous the menu includes black pudding and haggis. Our colour scheme reflects the colour of the water and the hues of the great sunrises & sunsets that you can see from the property. A 1930's style at the front of the house and a more modern day feel at the rear gives Freycinet Waters that light airy feel. Our prices include breakfast (or breakfast provisions), WiFi (the modern essential) and a small port to help you rest at the end of a busy day. ... more   less
