This was the most expensive accommodation of our two weeks in Tasmania. We had just come from a beautiful cottage in Stewarts Bay (for considerably less) to Edge of the Bay. The cottage itself is adequate and clean, however it is very old. The whole cottage would shake when the wind picked up. We ate in the restaurant which was... more

The Edge of the Bay Resort classes itself as a resort. However it seemed to have two classes of accommodation - 5 star hotel suites and 3.5 star cottages. I can't rate the hotel suites but they looked new and classy. When we booked in we looked at the glamorous website and booked into a cottage. It took us a... more

Can't add too much to the comments. Had dinner in the restaurant on New Year's Eve and it was very good. Great views from both the rooms and the restaurant. Rooms perfect - clean, comfortable, kitchenette was great for doing your own breakfast with a full size fridge, toaster and kettle although no cooking facilities. Only criticism - the music... more

Just returned from Tassie and stayed at Edge Of the Bay Resort for 2 nights. What a beautiful location, can stroll onto the beach from your room. The room was very nicely decorated and very comfy. Would definitely go back again!! I forgot to mention the restaurant was very good,we got $30-00 off per night and loved sitting at the window... more

We stayed at Edge of The Bay for 3 nights in an "ocean view suite". The room was large, modern, attractive and comfortable and private. The floor to ceiling windows framed a unique view across the bay with the mountains of Freycinet Peninsula as the background. Even my husband who is not into beaches and the sea thought it was... more

The rope entrance into the units is ridiculous - what is it for???? The restaurant wasn't open. The fee for staying is completely out of value for that time of year (winter - only 2 units occupied at that time). We found the attitude of the staff on enquiry was arrogant and dismissive. On arrival, nothing had changed. Never again. more

Whirlwind visit of Tassie so we only stayed for one night. What a room! We stayed in a beach front suite and it was metres from the sea. We kept the door open so we could hear the sea. Beautiful setting. The room was very comfortable with minimalist decor. Nice big plasma/LCD TV. The bed was really comfortable. We had... more

We have just returned from Tasmania. We were very lucky with the weather as it was 30 degrees c both days. The location is first class and the views are stunning from the rooms. Handily located near the national park. The restaurant was very good They gave us $30 off our meals although there's no real formal bar and breakfast... more

Edge of the Bay Resort Fabulous views from suite down to private beach. Wallaby on the deck in the morning! Fresh coffee and cafetiere in room. A bit stingy on towels (2 small bath towels and one hand towel between 2) and lacking mirrors, but a large and comfortable lodge “suite”. Restaurant out of this world, 1 or 2 Michelin... more

Had the 1st Ocean View suite nearest to the reception. Lulled to sleep by the waves beating ashore and awake to the sound of the roaring ocean with birds chirping. Watched sunrise from the bed and enjoyed a glass on the private deck watching the sunset. Panoramic view of the Bay. Stepping out of our room is a path leading... more
