This is one of the best country pubs I've stayed in for numerous reasons. The friendly atmosphere, the rambling nature of it, the lovely staff and of course the dog! If you have a dog then this is the place to take it as some of the nearby walking is amazing. And the dog will love the Pigs Ear treat... More

It was the day after boxing day and a bank holiday so not a problem for us that service was a little slow, actually it was very very slow but we were in no hurry and it was nice smiley service. It would have been nice if our long wait had been acknowledged though. The decor is nice, olde world... More

We spent a wonderful overnight at The Red Lion. It's a very quaint, historical inn in a sleepy little town. Rooms were a tad small, but very clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the hand shower. Food was excellent and staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a great place to serve as a base for exploring the... More

We have now stayed here twice and absolutely love it, the food is very good indeed. Staff are all very friendly and happy to help. We took our 7 month old beagle with us which we were a little worried about, but for no reason as she was just as well looked after as we were. The red lion is... More

This was our second visit which we enjoyed the quality of service by the staff. The accomodation was clean and fresh at a reseaonable price. The pub is cosy but the seating needs to be upgraded as it is beginning to look tired. The staff were superb and food of a good standard whether having dinner or breakfast. We had a relaxing stay... More

I can't speak for the B&B side of things but was very disappointed with the service in the restaurant. The meal itself was very tasty (if not a little overpriced) and although the service started well, it regressed to being pretty non existent. We tried on several occasions to get the attention of the servers to get our plates cleared... More

We loved our recent stay at this quaint hotel/pub. The managers and staff were very, very friendly and the locals were also very approachable. The room was nice and the bathroom lovely....made even more special by the fact that our little dog was welcomed happily. We will definitely return to stay when we are next in the area. More

We have just returned from a very relaxing 4 night stay at the Red Lion and it was quality. One thing that we always appreciate is good service and they have this in abundence, nothing is ever to much trouble. Room 5 was cozy, clean, with mod cons and warm whilst the bathroom followed suit especially with the heated towel rail.... More
