We were looking for a one night DB&B in this area before continuing our journey. This ticked all the boxes. In a busy part of the world, this is far enough off the motorways to be quiet. The road through the village passes the front of the hotel and the rooms are at the back. Plenty of private parking. Clean... More

Beautiful, very clean rooms. Staff is nice and friendly. Very quick check-in and check out. The pub/restaurant offers good meals, a quite expensive (4.20 for a pint of lager is way too much). Restaurant staff was very nice as well. Breakfast was good though I didn't have anything hot. More

The third time we've stayed here with a group of friends for our biennial reunions, and it certainly won't be the last. The weekend DB&B deal is very good value, especially as there are no restrictions on the dinner menu (just a supplement if you choose the fillet steak). The food is good and the wine list extensive - though... More

This pub is quite near to where we live but we hadn't eaten there for many years so we decided to give it another try. It was still what some reviewers have called "olde worldy" but I would describe it as down at heel and scruffy. There is not much choice on the menu so all our party opted for... More

another pub which thinks it can charge top restaurant prices for average food £9.00 for a vegetable curry (with 3 vegetables) was very over priced and nearly £13.00 for a chicken curry with no accompliments is poor. The staff are very freindly and the location good but there are lots of pubs near by which offer better value for food More

I cannot comment on the hotel as I only stopped for a business lunch. As soon as I walked through the door I could smell chip fat, they obviously need some more extraction in their kitchen. Lunch was ok but nothing special. The whole place is decorated and furnished in times gone by. When I left and got back into... More

The Golden Lion is a gem - 'old world' with a superb owner, Jim and his Argentine wife. Both are superb and very helpful and cheerful. The food is great and sensibly priced, and the ambiance great. The beer (Otter - a long way from home) was beyond criticism. The wine was superb too. We had the 4 poster for... More

The Golden Lion lies in the quiet village of Easenhall with a large car park and meadow at the rear. Nearer to the not too busy road is the older part of 3 dining rooms and a bar which are connected to a newer function room and 2 story accommodation wing. Outside there is a large patio with chairs and... More
