We were very disappointed with our recent stay at this "hotel". We travel widely in the UK and overseas and have no problem with paying for quality - but this place is a complete rip-off. On the rare occasions that our guests feel that Hotel de Vie has not lived up to their expectations I genuinely try to understand and deal with the issues raised provided that it is viable for me to do so. Our smaller double rooms start at £90 per night and go up to £110 per night for the larger rooms...

I completely agree with "robskils" this place is terrible value. I paid £110 per night. I’ve stayed in cheaper 4* hotels that were much more comfortable and relaxing. Our 'Decadence Room' has a King Size Four Poster bed in it and having just read this review I literally ran upstairs and jumped on it! The reviewer is correct it does have a squeak.... The bed is solid hardwood and so the squeaking would seem to be wood rubbing on wood. I am going to dismantle the bed and...

Lovely romantic ambiance in this boutique hotel. The rooms,bathrooms, & beds lived up to expectation. True- rooms slightly smaller that website suggests but cosy and really sorted. Really first class linens. Great breakfasts. Would like tea tray in room for those 5am cuppas!! more

We work hard to keep the hotel up to a high standard, the shower tray does have a hairline crack in it (as we have now discovered) and in some areas around the tray the sealant has come away, as a result of the slight ‘bounce’ caused by the crack. Replacing the tray is quite a big job and we...
