Visited the Silken Strand after purchasing a Wowcher for afternoon tea. Excellent service by a lovely waitress who ensured that we had a great experience. Nothing was too much trouble, she greeted us with a smile and genuinely wanted to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Would recommend this hotel unreservedly and will be back, maybe tapas... More

I brought my family in for tapas as my step mum lived in Spain for ten years so knew she'd really enjoy it. The food was excellent, fresh, reasonably priced and came out rather quickly even tho was a large order (table of 8) The waitress who we later found out was called lauren (thought she deserved a mention) was... I stayed in this hotel for several weeks on business. The first thing you'll notice about the hotel is the friendly staff who will go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This is, foremost, the reason why I continued returning to this hotel regularly. Also, the hotel, unlike some others in the area has... More

Stayed here whilst visiting friends in Werrington. Great hotel. Friendly staff, very clean throughout. Stayed in room 2 which has a very large bathroom with jacuzzi bath! A lot of money has been spent re-furbishing this hotel and it shows. Tastefully decorated. I came back to the hotel at 3am after a halloween party and there was still someone there... More

Booked after positive comments on here. Not been open long (current owners since March 2011) but they're really making an effort. Our room was in excellent condition, spacious bathroom and nice high ceilings. Downsides: - bed very soft. Not to everyone's taste. I coped, but other half got a bad back. - limited hot water in some rooms - apparently... More

We stayed here along with a lot of family for a wedding at the end of July. The hotel is really modern & very tastefully decorated. The staff are so friendly and very accommodating and we couldn't fault the level of customer service they provided! The barman & owner were particularly nice to us during our stay. The weather was... Just got home after staying over at the Silken Strand with a group of lovey ladies! What a gorgeous "chocolate box" hotel. The staff were very professional and friendly. Our rooms were immaculate and very spacious. The outside area of the hotel was great. The gardens were lovely. It has a lower and raised garden, the raised one having a... More

Stayed at this hotel with group of friends before and after a wedding. Staff were great and could not have been more helpful, even opening the bar late for a private function for us. Food was a bit hit and miss. Rooms were big but only let down was that the cleaning was not up to the standard that would... More
