We stayed for two nights at the Swallows Nest, the self catering cottage joined on to the Trough Ivy House B&B at the end of May. Location was great for alton towers, only a few minute walk to the main gates. Area was lovely and the accommodation very clean. The owners were very welcoming. Will definitely stay here when returning... More

We stayed here just for one night to go to Alton Towers, there's no exaggeration about how good the location is. The welcome was lovely, the room was clean and comfortable, parking was handy and I would have happily stayed more than one night. Breakfast was great and as a coeliac I was looked after really well as the lady... More

Brilliant location for Alton towers, couldn't get closer if you tried! Friendly couple, with a well maintained property. Good service and helpful advise on all local amenities.

Owned by a lovely couple who were Friendly and very helpful. The b&b is literally a 5 min walk to alton towers saving parking fees and queuing for the monorail etc. Room was fairly small but was clean and perfect for what we needed. Free wifi too which is always a bonus.

Very clean room and got free shortbread biscuits/mints/tea and coffee each day.Bathroom also spotless and comes with shower gel/shampoo and conditioner. The only negative is that its the 1st B&B that Ive ever had to pay for breakfast-£6... More

Stayed in the Trough Ivy House last month for one night and could not really fault it at all, very cosy, traditional B&B that served a good full english breakfast in the morning and has secure car parking for guests. They also let you leave the car in the parking area when you go into alton towers, even if you... More

Having recently stayed at Trough Ivy House's self catering Cottage (The Swallows Nest) I can honestly say it is the best trip we have had since coming to Alton Towers every year for the past 6 years. It is directly opposite the gates to Alton Towers & Carol & Terry are so welcoming and friendly and nothing seems to much... More

We stayed at Trough Ivy House this past June on our trip to Alton Towers and the location is simply ideal if you're planning to spend multiple days at the park. It's literally a minute away from the entrance (although there's no crosswalk, so be careful when crossing the street.) The staff was also very friendly and rooms clean. If... More

Me and my boyfriend looked at a few other B&Bs in this area as we were planning a trip to Alton Towers. We settled on this because of how close it was to the park. Didnt realise how close it actually was until the morning we went and the walk took us no longer than 5 minutes from leaving the... More
