A warm friendly welcome awaits anyone stopping at the Hood arms, This owner run hotel oozes a warm ambience from the moment you walk in. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet so a good nights sleep is guaranteed. The hotel restaurant is cosy and food quality excellent. The bar serves excellent real ales and a good selection of house... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night on Saturday 22nd October. A warm busy Pub we arrived early afternoon and had a bar snack which was very good. This establishment is a quintessential old English pub. It has the wood burning stove etc. It is advertised as a dog friendly pub and there were various dogs in attendance... More

Very welcoming and friendly hosts and staff. Warm, comfortable elegant room. Great food. What more can a dog and his two keepers hope for? Everything excellent, will definitely return! More

I can't speak highly enough of our 2 nights at The Hood Arms, we were made to feel so welcome with our 2 dogs. We had a great room, great food and had some great walks in the area. Thank you to John and Nicky and family for making us so welcome and keeping us entertained. Although, Ruby our lurcher,... More

I did not stay, but took two important friends to dinner here on Sunday 2nd October. We all had steaks- first class and cooked as ordered. The service was also outstanding with a young charming barman named Dan and the restaurant waiter(Matt) taking the trouble to write everything down so as to ensure he got our order right. He did.... Paul Pauline & Glen We came accross the Hood Arms very much by accident, in need of evening refreshment. We looked in the windows and thought, this looks a nice 'pub' and it will do. Well, what a surprise, as soon as we walked in and having a little banter with the staff, we immediatly felt like locals. The landlord... More

Myself and my partner staying at The Hood Arms for 5 days, it was convenient as it is near my grandmothers holiday home and she was having building work done, it was totally brilliant, welcoming and friendly and I would go back in a heartbeat. The food was simply divine! Particular kudos for the breakfast - the eggs were cooked... More

It’s interesting reading the mix of reviews; most seem very positive or very negative, a bit like Marmite! I am a bit middle-of-the-road about this place... The location is great; you can walk to the beach from here. The owners are very accommodating, friendly and good fun, although there was a huge scene when a local lad was thrown out.... More

We stayed for one night with our Dog and had a lovely time. Staff were good fun and very accomodating. John the landlord is hilarious and loves to entertain you. Wilfy the dog was allowed to relax and enjoy himself too. The restaurant is very busy during the evening with local people, which to me say's everything. And they too... More
