I stayed in Hunstrete House near Bath in Somerset in Sept. of 2010. I felt as if I were staying at a freind's home. It was small and very inviting. While not easy to find, it is well worth the trip. The rooms were large and sumptuous. We had a junior suite which was really lovely. The food was excellent.... More

My wife and I spent a portion of our 25th anniversray trip at Hunstrete House recently. For us it was a special visit as we honeymooned here in1986 and it has always had a special place in our memory. The room we had, Dove, was beautifully decorated and very quiet. There are small signs of wear and tear in areas... More

We had planned and hoped for a good weekend reunion of mature friends, all have whom enjoy good food, good wine and top quality accommodation. We were not disappointed. More

We stayed here with another couple on a two day package to celebrate the new year. In spite of the special offer price it was still extremely expensive and we expected great things. Our room, "Kestral" was quite large but we were disappointed to find it had no shower - only a bath. The TV, as previously stated by others,... More

Having heard the reputation of great food at Hunstrete House, I decided to organise a christmas meal for 26 people in the restaurant. We were a group with several food allergies and food preferences, ranging from peanut allergy, gluten allergy, vegans, no sponge puddings- so I was slightly hesitant to book something up. However, Shelia did not seemed fazed by... More

I treated my husband to a relaxing 2 night stay for his birthday which I got on offer via the internet. We enjoyed our experience and were delighted to be upgraded to a juniour suite which was located on the ground floor (perfect as we had brought along our spoiled pooch for the experience) Unfortunately on checking out a confusion... 1 LOCATION: With a good SatNav, the hotel isn't hard to find. It probably took us 30 mn to drive from bath to it. The drive is great (countryside). 2 BUILDING: The buidling is impressive. If you are looking for a historical house, you will like Hunstrete. 3 WELCOME: Great welcome. Staff very willing to help. We were looked after... More

My boyfriend and I stumbled over this manor house after being totally disappointed by the standard of b&b`s in Bath. Although on the pricier side of b&b accommodation, when you put into perspective of how much a manor of this size would cost to run, cost of linen, cleaning, gardeners, maintenance, etc it is a truly good value break a... We were looking for a stay at short notice not too far from Bath and my other half likes the good life, so we managed to get in on the day to this hotel. Part of a chain with many grand places it is suitably impressive in a lovely location and the staff could not have been more helpful or... More

This hotel has seen better days, necessary investment has been postponed but now it under the Von Essen umbrella hopefully it will get the care and attention it deserves. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was a room large enough to be both sitting room and bedroom provided with TWO bathrooms, one a shower room, the other with... More
