Three stars is probably about right for this hotel, although with more attention to detail it could quite easily be higher. First impressions are mixed with a magnificent driveway through the trees, but then spoilt by a somewhat drab entrance with a very heavy forbidding front door. The garden areas in front of the hotel also let the appearance down... More

First impressions favourable;Fairly well maintained grounds but no golf course as advertised-only fields and the odd flagpole jotted around.Did not use the leisure facilities but looked very good with friendly staff when talking to them. Room spacious and fairly clean.A hot day but unable to open any windows--painted over!! After getting the TV to work and propping up the sash... More

I have stayed at this hotel twice before and have never been disapointed . What can I say very friendly welcome as always. On this occasion managed to get some golf in the short course ( 9 holes) and also managed to use the gym and swwimming pool.Excellent facilities. The food was good and had a lot of choices of... I've stayed at this hotel twice now while on a course with the company who are based in an annex of the hotel, the course was great but the hotel is a huge dissapointment. I have stayed in the main house and the annex, the room in the main house was very cold, I had to use the heater supplied... More

I work in travel and find that people always write when they are not happy and very rarely when they are happy. So i would like to comment on how I found the hotel (and i visit alot in my line of work). Stayed at the hotel for a Wedding on Saturday (14 April 2012). This venue is ideal for... More

On arrival, the building looked lovely, shame about the non-sympathetic extention but overall quite good outside. The grounds were tidy and reasonably well kept. The fishing spots looked peaceful and pleasant and the golf course had potential. The pool and gym facilities are good. Did not have time to sample the spa experience but i feel most independent hotels miss... More

Booked room 21 as a family room. Checked back in and checked straight back out. In fairness, recptionist was very gracious about it and did try to find an alternative room. When there were non available she was gracious and professsional about no charge on card and allowing us to simply leave. When you arrive the big front doors are... More

I've stayed here a few times. The rooms can be a bit dated but clean and there are extra blankets, tea making facilities and a heater. The leisure center is handy and has a pool. The food can be hit and miss too and the breakfast menu could be expanded a bit with more hot food. Staff are always friendly... More

After seeing the very misleading modern view of this hotel on the internet, we were suprised to find that the hotel areas were very tired, the door to the hotel was shut (not very inviting) and then you needed to find the reception area!. We checked into our room which was at the far end of the hotel above the... More
