My partner and I stayed at the Abingdon Four Pillars after deciding to treat ourselves to a spur of the moment weekend away. We found the hotel was well positioned for our visit and was very reasonably priced. On arrival staff were efficient and welcoming and gave us some very useful information regarding visiting Oxford. Our room was a reasonable... More

We stayed here for a 4 day Christmas Break. The room was OK and fairly clean although I found an old cigarette packet under the bedside cabinet when looking for a dropped earring! As Christmas lunch is one of the most important meals of the season we were very disappointed. It was no better than a school dinner. The meal... More

Dear JohannaSuffolk. Thank you for reviewing our hotel following your recent stay with us. I was disappointed to read that there were some aspects of your stay which you were not happy with; for these disappointments I offer my sincere apologies. All of our food is freshly cooked to order and we do not reheat or microwave any items on... More

My last visit to this location was a good one. It has improved. The rooms remain as they were, which is good. Breakfast was fine. The big difference was that we had dinner there this time. The dinner menu was very good, indeed, better than expected. It remains a good option for an en route stop over for families and... More

Good Points: Got a really good deal on the price as i booked last minute; staff friendly - especially night porter; free parking; free wifi in room; good for A34, clean room. Bad Points: I had to wait 15 minutes before anyone arrived at the desk (11pm), and rang the courtesy phone which rang out. The check in procedure took... More

Very good hotel for the money, especially the 2 night leisure promotions. Rooms are always clean and tidy, and staff are always friendly at the desk. we had the three course meals in the evenings and they were always brilliant. Only problem is it is very difficult to find and isn't well sign posted and is hidden behind loads of... More

Good points: Warm welcome, free car parking, clean room, food okay but expensive Not so good points: No proper road signs to the hotel. I found it difficult to find the way as it was dark and could not see the sign board as they were very small. (may need big sign boards and some reflective sign boards) More

Booked a table for Sunday Lunch. Restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, but they had our booking in the list. But from there things went downhill. We were not shown to our table, rather just pointed in the general direction. Menus were already on the table. Waited 15 minutes to be asked if we wanted drinks, ordered our drinks... More

The hotel couldn't find my booking even though I had a print out of an e-mail that was sent to me confirming it. The next morning whilst checking out the original booking had somehow resurfaced and I was told that I had to pay for two rooms (plus a cancellation fee for the first booking as nobody used the room.)... I pride myself on picking really brilliant hotels but this time I got it wrong. Although I realised that this is rated a 3 star rather than the 4 star Four Pillars we have often enjoyed at their Cotswold Water Parks hotel, we thought that there might at least be similarities and that the main difference resulting in one less... The rooms are very clean and modern. All the usual facilities are available in the rooms - tea/coffee, en-suite, Wi-fi, etc. The room was a bit noisy due to the proximity to the road, so if a light sleep ask for a room furthest away from road. Avoid room 17 as this is closest to the car park entrance so... More
