I have only just read the comments on here, and I don't know if your talking about the same place or not but I thought it was amazing. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The quality of food was perfect. It was that good we stayed and did the quiz for the night. I have already recommended it to... More

The Dukeries Lodge re-opened recently, and being local to the village, my husband and I have frequented it for several weeks on a Saturday night. Throughout the week, there are different offers on different food types, but we love the Saturday treat, where if you eat from the char-grill menu, you can have a free desert. My husband loves the... I have been to the Dukeries Lodge tonight for the first time, and must say I was not impressed with the service I got (or didn't get)! Not knowing where to go to get a table at first then being looked at as if I'd got two heads, I then wanted to 'open a tab' but had to 'find a... More

Well wot cqn I say, went in on Saturday afternoon not at all busy dirty plates everywhere. We stood at the bar and ordered our food then managed to find a table that was cleanish. The food came out within 5 mins of us ordering it which was a bonus but then we had no knifes or forks, e plates... More

We always loved the Dukeries, enjoyed it as a "Ma Hubbards" periodically too, service and food, like the surroundings where really good and we had no complaints. We went there a week or so ago with a view to giving the new regime a whirl, and have a meal-we must have stood a good five minuites in an empty bar area whilst the three members... booked this hotel as it was nearest to the area of sherwood forest my husband and i needed to be in. Great location, staff very welcoming and friendly, the hotel was clean, our room basic and nicely decorated. Breakfast was very good, perhaps a little more attention to details, for example side plate and cutlery not laid, milk for coffee/tea not... More

With a round of golf planned at nearby Rufford Park and with us both tired and bored with the usual well known hotel chains, a collegue and I booked single rooms at the Dukeries Lodge. First impressions when you walk in are that it's very big and absolutely rammed with character features The night we stayed (Thursday) we were the... More

I stayed for one night, single room, for £37.50. You can't expect too much at that price - the room was basic but functional, the bathroom was nice and new. I found the staff to be very accommodating and friendly - I arrived after the restaurant stopped serving food, and so I grabbed a chinese meal from the takeaway over... More

We needed somewhere to stay the night within reach of the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, so we found this large pub with rooms. It had obviously been very grand once and the new management had seemed to have spent some money refurbishing the room we were in. We were not impressed with the welcome we got. The staff were offhand... More
