This was one of the best hotel/b&b's I've ever stayed in, over the years I've stayed in plenty of accommodation while away from home, this is definitly one of the best, the welcome was fantastic, the room was everything expected and more. The breakfast was as good as I've ever had. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who... More

I have stayed in numerous b&bs up and down the UK, ranging from average to mostly excellent establishments. Malabar is the best bed and breakfast I have stayed in. Our room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. A lovely surprise, was to find 2 slices of home made cake, made by Moira, and left in our room each... More

We have just spent 4 nights here over the May Day weekend and cannot fault it. Moira & Brian cannot do more for you and they are around if you need them but not if you don't! Breakfast has to be the best we've experienced at a B&B nothing too much trouble and high quality ingredients. Bedroom was one the... More

After having my faith in bed and breakfasts truly shattered I was apprehensive about staying but the Malabar truly has reinforced my confidence in this market. We had a very spacious room, which was clean tidy and had some lovely personal touches that made it easy to feel comfortable. We had a bit of a later start than the majority... More

Stayed here for one night so we could visit seahouses and Lindisfarne the next day. Nice clean place, modern, not overpriced and with a good breakfast. Owners not in your face and leave you alone unless you want to ask them something (which we appreciated). We got put into a large family room even though we only booked a normal... More

We stayed here for two nights; originally booked for one night but everthing was so so good we decided to stay for a second night. Moira and Brian have dotted every i and crossed every t and have made Malabar into a perfect "retreat"; The kippers are the best we have ever tasted; the bedroom was well equipped with attention... There was good advice on where to eat locally and places to visit. The breakfast was excellent and will set you... More

For us, this is as good as it gets for a guest house. The room was excellently appointed and very comfortable, the breakfasts were to die for - whether traditional English or fish options. Moira and Brian obviously have years of experience in the business, and it shows. We booked it on the strength of other reviews for Malabar, and... More
