Thistleyhaugh is a family run B&B. The rooms are furnished in an eclectic English style mixing antiques with art and antiques of all eras. The bedroom we occupied (Rose) and the public rooms were all spotless and very comfortable. Food is a real highlight. The focus is on locally sourced high quality produce. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice... more

we stayed at Thistleyhaugh for 3 nights and thought it was wonderful. Our two girls enjoyed the free run of the garden - with trampoline and dog. in particular our 9 year old enjoyed sitting in the garden chatting to Enid whilst keeping an eye on one of Enid's grandchildren in the pram. There are cows, pigs and chicken. The... more

We just spent a week at Enid's lovely organic b&b farm, in room Mary which was large and nicely decorated! the house was comfy and elegant as well; all the guests sat at the large communal table for meals. For Breakfast Enid served upon request deliciously moist smoked kippers with scrambled eggs. We had 2 dinners at home, very delicious,... more

This is quite simply one of the best B&B's we have stayed in. The welcome and friendliness of Enid and her family were wonderful, the breakfasts and dinners were fantastic, and the accommodation spacious and very comfortable. They bent over backwards to make sure we were well looked after, including our 8 month old daughter. A really great place. more

We were only there for a weekend break, but we could've stayed forever. The room was lovely, and it was a pleasant surprise to stay in a B&B that lets the charm of the old building breathe rather than drowning it in chintz. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to help, even when we arrived too... more

We stayed 4 nights at this delighful farmhouse B&B. Enid, Janice and Zoe were wonderful hosts. We had the Rosa room which was large and well equiped with views onto the garden. Breakfasts are served around a large table which enduces conversation - large plates of cooked breakfasts (or kippers) are brought out from the kitchen - all sourced from... more

Had a fantatstic stay on this working organic farm in Northumberland. The room was wonderful - tea and coffee, small TV, small fridge, comfortable bed, great bathroom. My only reservation is that the room was slightly small. Delightfully friendly, kind and helpful family-owned place served a great breakfast of kippers with scrambled eggs as well as the traditional English breakfast.... more

The previous reviews on Trip Advisor suggested that Thistleyhaugh offered just what we were looking for – a peaceful place to stay with a high standard of accommodation and good food, and that’s exactly what we found. We stayed for a winter weekend and were the only guests - tourists are few and far between in Northumberland in March, but... more

We stayed two nights at this farmhouse B&B as a breaking off point on a journey south from Scotland . We received a very warm welcome from Enid, the owner, and were shown to our double ensuite room. This was an attractive, comfortable room but maybe a bit on the small side. Other rooms were larger but then we did... more
