Stayed for one night on 26th January 2012. My mother and I shared the twin room with en suite. A lovely large room with sofa and TV and tea and coffee facilities. Everything was perfect from the comfy beds, large fluffy towels, toiletries, and the special touches like a sweet on top of the towels and the homebaked cake along... More

They say that the further north you travel in England the friendlier the people. Berwick is about as far north you can get in England and Ruth & Maurice, the owners, are great ambassadors to the well earned reputation. From a lovely welcoming sherry, tea and a cake, the accurate local advice to the little finishing touches in the spotless... More

We stayed here for one night whilst attending a event in the area. It is a beautiful property which is immaculately maintained. Our bedroom had a large, comfortable bed and was the cleanest room I have ever experienced in a B&B. The little touches; some cake and the provision of lovely showergel and body cream made it more personal. The... More

By far, the best Guest House we had ever stayed in. As Americans, we so appreciated the fluffy towels and washcloths, no less! The decor and furniture were elegant and comfortable. The location of the House was perfect so that one could walk easily around the area. The full and I do mean, full,English breakfast, the next morning was wonderful,... More

We stayed at the Old Vicarage at Easter this year and were very impressed with.... everything!. Maurice and Ruth are the perfect hosts. Our room was very spacious and the balcony was the perfect place to take tea. There are a large variety of breakfasts to choose from, all well prepared, and served in the large dining room. A nice... Thank you so much for taking the time to give us some feedback from your stay at The Old Vic back in June. How lovely to read that you enjoyed our little roof terrace and that the weather was kind enough to let you sit and have tea - very civilised! Hope to see you back here in 2012, meanwhile... More

A beautiful B&B, spotlessly clean, with stunning rooms and the most incredible breakfasts. Huge room with a beautiful little balcony and a luxurious bathroom. I personally would have liked a bath but this did not spoil our visit. Owners are really friendly and helpful and are happy to recommend things to do and places to eat. More

I stayed here for one night after finishing the St. Cuthbert's Way, and I arrived somewhat early having walked from Lindisfarne on a very windy day, but this was no problem, and I could settle into my lovely room immediately. I loved the attention to detail, and the Old Vicarage is a gorgeous building. Really enjoyed the breakfast in the... More

A wonderful place to spend a couple of nights while exploring Berwick. The hosts were clearly foodies and not only were we offered great breakfasts, we were also given very good recommendations for eating out. More

I stayed 3 nights in a warm and very comfortable single en-suite room. The room is described as "cosy", which it certainly is, but it is also spacious enough for a sitting and dressing area and is perfect to relax in. The en-suite shower room is beautifully clean and well-lit, with luxurious fluffy towels and a range of toiletries. Ruth... More
