Stayed here in july whilst on a cycling trip with friends so we were on a budget. Found the place very pleasant clean and tidy and far superior to some B & B's that were double the price. The young lady that showed us around was a student and very helpful we were welcome to use the kitchen facilities. The... More

The place is situated in the middle of Berwick, entrance though a gate into a backyard. About 20 minutes walk from the train station. Nice and quiet. No reception area, you might find the owner or her "helpers" (students) in the kitchen. Make sure you let her know of your arrival time, otherwise she might not be present upon arrival.... More

I loved this place! I was travelling solo, off-peak, and ended up with no less than a dorm, two bathrooms, and the entire kitchen area all to myself. Everything was clean, tidy and welcoming, the one person I spoke too was friendly, and it's in a great spot for sightseeing. Hope I can stay at more places like this in... More

Stayed at the "Backpackers" with 12 others whilst doing the coast to castles bike ride. Rang Angela as we approached Berwick, she promptly dropped everything to welcome us. Excellent rooms, very clean and tidy, secure bike storage , drying facility and can cater for a big group. Lovely , well equipped kitchen , full of food, that can fit the... More

I stayed here on my own for just 1 night at the start of my Northumbrian coastal route trip and what a way to start. For starters, Berwick upon tweed is a beautiful little town.... The hostel is located centrally for everything. Quiet Pubs across the street, tons of restaurant and friendly locals. I had a single room that was... More

This was my first solo trip to a hostel and I couldn't have chosen a better place than Berwick Backpackers. Angela and Ian made me feel welcome, safe and comfortable for my six day stay in Berwick. My room was decorated with lots of nice individual touches that made it feel much more homely than your average dorm room. The... More

Stayed in room 4 and it was very comfortable, can't comment on other rooms. The self catering kitchen was good but there could be a problem if a few people tried to use it all at the one time. Had one of the best Indian meals ever at the Villa Spice Indian Restaurant in the town. All in all a... More

A top place to stay. Friendly, warm, 'make yourself at home' welcome, breakfast, internet included and the welcoming hosts! Lovely single room, I could store my bike too. Right by Berwicks Old Bridge and on the Lowry trail - almost in one of the paintings! Great local fish and chip shop round the corner too. I will definately come back.... More
