Used the restaurant only on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed a great lunch. Two courses at £15 per head for a first class meal, and free soft drinks for free; this was great value for money. The restaurant has very nice decor, staff were friendly and helpful. I must try the cafe sometime when I am passing again. More

Yuk Yuk on arrival there was pubic hair, dirty toilet, second hand soap, dirty carpet, dust cobwebs, dust on surfaces, coffee splashed up the wall and smelly bed (sweat). We tried to eat a meal, the stater was fine but the main course was not as on the menu I.e. steak and ale pie with garlic crust was actually stew... More

Located immediately off the A1, close to Bamburgh, so a good overnight stop and also convenient for tourist locations. The staff were friendly. Meals in the restaurant were good but it lacks ambience. The room was comfortable but could have been better cleaned. Irritatingly we had to retune the TV each time it was switched on. The shower was unpredictable... More

I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Purdy Lodge. We found it very clean with helpful staff. The meal we had in the evening was well presented and very nice. If I was looking for faults, I would say the windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the last time Bamburgh Castle had been invaded, and the used... More

we booked Purdy lodge as a stopover on the way up to edinburgh. I booked it on-line, based on price and location. I didn`t have very high expectations as the picture of the hotel looked pretty basic. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The appearance and decor was much better than expected. We arrived at 8.45pm. We had not... More

This place was awful, tired corridors and the rooms were just grubby and unhygienic. There was dust in all the corners of the room, along the headboard and the bathroom was just grubby. The much vaunted view to Bamburgh Castle shows only a speck on the horizon, but the windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in or out for... More

We stayed here for 1 night before the Great North Run, booked 1 week before the run, great value for £55/night (excluding breakfast). Breakfast was available in the all day cafe, We ate in the restaurant when we arrived, good choice of food. All staff really friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, bathroom was modern. Bed wasn't very... More

We recently called into the cafe at around 930pm on our way down to Bamburgh from Glasgow. As it was late and based upon recommendations from my parents whose caravan we were staying at, we called in for a late supper. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and my fiancé ordered the lamb hotpot. The cafe was a little dirty... More

What I didn't like: Not much to be fair! The cafe was in a poor state with tables that needed clearing, dishes stacked up, food on the floor etc. and it wasn't busy. In terms of value, I reckoned the rooms were probably about £20 a night overpriced... The cups in the rooms still had remnants of the previous occupants... More
