Just spent the weekend - great food, splendid location and well looked after by Roger. Much more of a very relaxed informal house party atmosphere and all the better for that - oh yes we will be booking again - if only to take Buster the dog for another walk.

Six of us stayed here for one night recently. It was a perfect, peaceful location - the house is surrounded by beautiful Swaledale countryside, just near the river. The bedrooms were all lovely; we had two classic rooms and one superior and all were clean, comfortable and had amazing views of the surrounding countryside. The classic rooms were slightly smaller... More

I booked our room for two rather spontaneously the day before and right away Roger sent us a confirmation e-mail filled with all sorts of useful information, which was extremely helpful. He even helped us with directions when some of the roads were shut due to snow! The house itself is stunning with views of the River Swale from just... More

I stayed here on a short break with a friend in November 2012. The hotel is extremely well situated and sitsin an elevated position with wonderful views of the Swaledale valley. It has much Art Deco period features and is situated mid way between A! & M6 thus enabling trips to the dales and to the Lakes. The owner, Roger... More

My wife and I stayed here for a "minimoon" following our wedding. After all the rushing the peace and tranquility was just what we needed. Our host Roger was very welcoming and cooked delicious food. We stayed in the master suite, a fantastic room with stunning views onto the hillside above swaledale. The house has a lot of history and... More

This was a stay with a subtle difference. If you feel B and B has become a little too corporate then treat yourself to a stay at Rowleth End. To begin with you have to venture a long way up the valley, well beyond Richmond and Reeth but it is a journey well worth taking. The house has tremendous character... More

Booked at 7pm the night before and arrived at 2.30am. Roger the owner told us he would be in bed at this time but told us how we could still get in and get to our room. The room we were given was the Edward Elgar suite at the right hand end of the house. The room was lovely and... More

My fiancee and I have just come back from a one night country getaway at Rowleth End. All I can say is, please don't pay heed to the slightly negative aspects of some prior reviews. Yes, if you're expecting a modern, swish and minimalist environment with all the things a large corporatation can provide - good and bad - you... More

This was our second visit to Rowleth End and was every bit as enjoyable as the first. We were warmly welcomed by Roger who entertained us and the other guests throughout our stay and was the perfect host. We loved the 1920s Art Deco appearance and our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The food however was the highlight... More

My wife and I stayed at Rowleth End for two nights, this B&B has some great potential to be a superb B&B, this quirky B&B is in a beautiful building in a beautiful location run by the owner manager Roger. A very friendly host runs this B&B with the assistance of two unpaid foreign students. In exchange for carrying out... More
