We booked this hotel on the strength of previous tripadvisor reviews, and we weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome, and offered a choice of rooms (both of which were beautifully decorated and furnished). Our room contained everything anyone could possibly need for a short stay; comfy bed, lovely on-suite bathroom - which was spotlessly... more

My partner and I came across the Newton having travelled a long way and were just really in need of a bed for the night, but wow, what can I say...a gem of a hotel! A grade 2 listed fabulous building, free parking, a huge tastefully decorated bedroom to die for (plus Molton Brown toiletries), spotlessly clean, warm, welcoming hosts... more

Stayed for a couple of nights in one of the courtyard rooms which had a huge comfy bed and all neccessary facilities. Very clean and comfortable. Staff and owners were very attentive, helpful and friendly. Took our two dogs who were made more than welcome and bedding/towels/treats also provided for them. Ideal location for centre and resteraunts / bars etc.... more

We stayed two nights based on the tripadvisor reviews and can agree this is a lovely place to spend time. Very clean, well specified and comfortable. We stayed in room 1, which was large and well appointed. The hosts (Mark & Lisa) could not have been more friendly and went out of their way to help with our questions, making... more

I chose this charming B&B at the last minute purely on the basis of the multitude of 5 star reviews it has received on this website. After staying for 2 nights in late October, I quickly discovered why everyone loved their experience there. Put simply, it was cosy, spotlessly clean and the staff (also the owners) of Mark & Lisa... more

Stayed at Newton House for 2 nights in late October - just fantastic!! Great service from Mark and Lisa from beginning to end. The room we booked was at the front of the hotel and very comfortable, the bed was huge, the shower was warm and wet... If you need a quiet, friendly place to stay near Harrogate or York,... more

This was my second trip to this little hotel but the first time for a few nights and for leisure. Went with my whole family... Wife, 11 year old boy, 5 month old boy two West Highland Terriers. First thing to note is that this hotel is genuinely pet friendly and you don't need to take your own bowls, bedding... more

My 2 sisters and I stayed one night in the hotel and were very impressed. The room was beautilfully outfitted and well equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The public rooms were also beautiful. Excellent cooked breakfast in the morning. Perfect location for Knaresborough which is a lovely little town to visit more
