We stayed here for two nights with some close family who had stayed before. It really did tick all our boxes. The rooms are decorated in a modern contemporary style and kept in tip top spotlessly clean condition. There are ample clean fluffy towels and plenty of complimentary toileteries in the bathrooms. We were in Room 1 which had a... More

We had a New Years Eve meal here.... Food was excellent 10/10.... I last ate here a while back and it was awful. Not anymore. The new-ish management have fully addressed everything I disliked about The Mitre....re-reading this it sounds like I work for them! Im pleased to say that there only used to be one place to eat in... More

We were warmly greated by all members of staff when we arrived. The service was excellant and the room was superb. Could not fault it. Very clean, modern and lovely views. Food very well presented and braekfast kept us going for most of the day! the Inn is situated between the quaint train station and the church. Recommend a trip... More

The Mitre is well situated with in the Town, with well appointed and modern rooms, nicely decorated and very spacious. The bar is always busy with a great choice of local beers and the staff are friendly. A good 'hearty' breakfast is served and will last you all day. The Mitre is within easy walking distance of the river and... More

Visited Knaresbourgh for a weekend and tried the Mitre for the beer on the Friday. Nice place and atmosphere with an excellent choice of beer so decided to book into the brasserie for the Saturday. Very dissapointing meal. My wifes meal had obviously been heated up so that the pastry was hard and inedible. Another diner across from us also... More

This was our second time staying in The Mitre. it is a very nice hotel, with very friendly staff. Good beer and good food. Excellent location for visiting nearby towns and cities, e.g. York/Leeds, although every Sunday night they have a live band playing in the pub below the rooms, which is alright if you do not have an early... We stayed at the Mitre which is a hotel/real ale pub/food venue for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very comfortable and the B&B prices represent good value for money. The food and (especially) the beer are excellent.....not a brewing conglomerate's tasteless bilge in sight, all local craft beers lovingly kept & well presented. The top marks... More

We booked this hotel because of its beer credentials. We were not disappointed; about 10 pumps including ciders and some of our favourites; copper Dragon, Timothy Taylors etc. Apart from the bar which was staffed excellently and with real expertise the hotel is fairly standard; yes the room was large and light but it could have been a chain hotel,...
