A nice old building with a vibrant bar with a good selection of beers, staff nice enough, slightly eccentric place. Rooms, although clean are very dated and tired, very excited by the Avacado bathroom suite, probably a collectors item now, half expected Dudley Moore and Peter Stringfellow to come out of the bathroom with a Martini Rosso in hand. Good... More

A basic, very central, small roomed hotel. Reasonable priced, so can't complain. Dated cosmetically, but clean...just what's needed for a one night stay when going out in Melton for the night.

I would use this hotel again, friendly staff, as near to the town centre as you would want( no taxis needed), evening meal tasty and well cooked. Real fried bread with a hearty breakfast , a mark of a good breakfast to come is the state of the toast, here done both sides not what is passed off in more... More

I was looking for a hotel in Melton to spend an evening during a business trip. I wanted something central in walking distance of town centre and railway station. The Harboro fits the spec exactly. This is a “no frills” hotel but you are equally paying “no frills” prices – probably less than the local Travelodge or Premier Inn. The... More

Because the double room was booked online we had already paid for 5 nights! We arrived late afternoon, nobody around at 'reception' (box under the stairs & view into an antiquated kitchen) The theadbare carpets & uneven staircase was enough to give me vertigo.Doors slammed noisily behind us & I knew this wouldn't allow for a quiet nights sleep. We only stayed at this hotel because the other hotel we normally stay at was booked up. The decor was extremely shabby and run down. However, the location was good, being very close to the town centre. The only other positive comments are that the staff were efficient and the cooked breakfast was good (although there was no fruit or... More

Not prepossessing from the outside but we found this better than the reviews suggested. Clean, comfortable, service from the staff at reception was excellent - sorting out somewhere to put the cycles, advising on dinner options. Value for money not bad at £59 for a double room. Would stay here again very cheerfully.

Easy going and hard working independantly owned hotel. Much respect for that. Breakfasts excellent. Beer ok, despite large bar. What i found annoying was the unhelpfulnes of the owners. As a large tour, we wanted late beers. I was told before touring that the bar would be kept open, if enough drinkers. Fair enough...there were 30 of us. No. The... More

I was worried after reading all the reviews about this hotel. It was nowhere as bad as suggested. The rooms were clean if a little dated and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good and most important the beer served in the bar was excellent
