This hotel is basic, but if like myself who got a deal of £102 for 2 nights Half board. It is good value for money, the staff are all helpful, the food was simple but done very well, you only get what you pay for,the rooms were clean, but the hotel could do with a lick of paint, Overall for the price... This is a hotel which we booked as part of a National Holidays four day package. I am never disappointed with the value for money although this is average for the usual class of Britannia hotel. The food was plentiful and of a reasonable quality for the price we paid although very basic. I sometimes think it can be down... More

Spent the night here in order to meet up with some friends for a birthday celebration. I do need to say that it was cheap - £50 for 2 for dinner bed and breakfast including wine. From that perspective it was good value.. but... Room - first room was 224 - advice to owners - let this one by the... More

Stayed over bank holiday weekend for 1 night. Booked with vouchers from work and booking said twin or double room. Got there to find we had a twin and were told no doubles left. Very helpful guy in reception managed to get us into a executive room that had been cancelled. Room was excellent with very large bed. Stayed half... More

It is idealy located next to the motorway junction. It claims to be in Wigan but it must be 4+ miles out of the town. The enthusiastic staff are young and many I suspect are still at school and earning a few pounds in their spare time. The room was comfortable and well provided if somewhat worn, tired and due... We booked a three day weekend break through Travelstyle at a very reasonable price which included dinner, bed and breakfast and a 99p bar (7:30pm - 11:00pm). The hotel is ideally placed in central Lancashire for touring. The hotel could do with updating but we found it to be generally clean and comfortable. Our room was generously proportioned with adequate... More

Having read other reviews prior to my stay , I was pleasantly surprised. The room was in a more recent wing , perfectly clean and well furnished. A light bulb was missing from one bedside light which I reported to the management. Every thing else functioned okay. Bathroom could do with a makeover in the next six months. For £34.00... More

Stayed here as the base for visting family for the weekend - for free with Tesco Reward vouchers. Handy location just off M6. Not much else to commend it. Our room was clean and facilities were what you would expect for a 3 star - but we've stayed in much nicer 3 star B & B's. Staff were friendly and... More

Just had a two night break and stayed in the Britannia Wigan Hotel in Standish. This has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are disgusting, grotty and really dirty, they need a complete refurbishment from top to bottom. The first room we were given had the toilet flooring curling up at the... More
