The wife and I stayed in the rather provocatively named 'Miss Whiplash' room, that caused a giggle. Rooms are comfortable. The decor has been modernised in some places and the bar is great for food and drinks. There is evening entertainment on the weekend. Ok if you are part of it, but perhaps not if you are trying to get... More

It is apparent from the time you meet the publican, Terry, that he loves his job. He is very welcoming - the perfect host - a rarity in this day of the multi-national hotel chains. What more can be said that has not been said in other reviews. "warm, friendly and welcoming " sums it up well. Very comfortable bed... More

A friend and I stumbled on The Swan & Royal just by chance while on a motorcycle tour. Very friendly welcome. The rooms were far and away better than anything we could have hoped for, and at very reasonable prices. Manager and staff very helpful providing secure parking for bikes. History of hotel very interesting with several famous guests in... More

Myself and a friend stopped here during our coast 2 coast charity walk. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the landlord Terry is a warm hearted person who runs a excellent hotel. Please visit them the next time your in Clitheroe. More

Stayed on a Fri & Sat night. Room was great. Nice and big and all full size beds. Location excellent, right in the town centre. Breakfast was good and staff were very helpful and polite. Our room was directly above the bar and with the disco on it felt as if we were sat on the dancefloor. Incredibly loud booming... More

We stumbled on the Swan and Royal quite by chance and what a lucky find it was for us. It has been beautifully rebuilt and restored since a disastrous fire 18 months ago. It's so well done that it looks as if everything is the original building! We had a lovely big room and a delicious Lancashire breakfast. It is... More

I often stay in the area with business I believe that this is the best B&B i have stayed in around the Clitheroe/Whalley area. The B&B has recently reopened and the rooms have been tastefully restored and with impressive period features. Most B&B's I stay in have either tiny tv's or very old larger ones however the TV here was... More

Just had a weekend at this wonderful hotel/pub set in the heart of the high street in Clitheroe. The staff are amazing and will do anything at all to help you.
