As soon as we arrived at the Royal York Hotel we could see what friendly/helpful people worked there. Room was very clean and fresh. The breakfast was very good, served hot. Avoid this hotel! Even free it would be too expensive! The rooms are seedy and badly maintained. The food is OK but cold -- if it arrives at all, which it often doesn't. This has to be the very worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room smelt a though something had recently died in it, the carpets were stained and thread-bare, the woodchip wallpaper was a stunning mould and beige patchwork effect and as for the bathroom!!!
