Stay with here due to a work event and all in all it was a nice place. Chap who ran the place was out when we got there, left a note saying "back in 5 mins" and he was rather apologetic when he returned. I was staying the the twin bedroom on the ground floor which was perfectly adaquate. Single... More

A great family run B&B, rooms are nicely decorated and very clean with modern bathrooms, hosts were very helpful in answering our questions about how to get where we wanted to go and very accommodating to our requests. Breakfast was a particular treat as eggs benedict (royale/florentine) are the host's speciality!

Anchorage is a clean and tidy well presented B & B. It is well situated for the best access to what Cowes has to offer and just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. With a true seaside feel from the fresh decor and complimented by the host Peter who went out of his way to make my stay... More

Excellent stay, I loved the breakfast, their was a set menu, but the owner cooked any thing that I asked for, I was always greeted when I finished in the evening. Room was clean, and towels changed daily, and bin emptied daily. Free wifi, which was great. The owner guided me on where to go for food and things to... More

Total rip-off at £80 a room, this is the price I would expect to pay for a 3-4 star hotel. This place is a tired shabby old guest house, which should be priced at no more than £50 a night. The owner was inflexible over what time breakfast could be served. He was a rude arrogant man. The breakfast was... More

The main thing I liked about this place was the choice of breakfasts!I was there for nearly 2 weeks for business so having a choice for breakfast was great. Owner was friendly and location good. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke however, and the carpet in my room could have done with being vacuumed! Location good.

The room looked clean but on closer inspection the carpet was a little grubby and there were long hairs from a previous occupant which was off-putting. The coffee provided in the room is disgusting. Breakfast was adequate though the orange juice tasted stale and toast was of the standard cheap sliced variety. The best thing is the location which is... More

We stayed while visiting friends on the Island, and found the room to be very comfortable, bright and clean. The house is tastefully fitted out and is a short walk from the main street and ferry. Peter made us feel very welcome and is to be commended for the choice and quality of the breakfasts served. We'll certainly be returning... More

Having been fated by the ash cloud and unable to go abroad, I decided to go to the Isle of Wight for 4 days and stayed at Anchorage, in Cowes. This fulfilled all my expectations of a good Engllish B & B, lovely room, delicious varied breakfast menu (had to try it all). The Proprietor was cheerful and helpful, and... More
