Food is delicious, although not what I was expecting on a business trip. The hotel was booked via work and I would love to stay here and be able to really enjoy the place. The service was impeccable, the food superb and my room was lovely. I stayed in Richmond which had a bay window and a whirlpool bath. I... More

Just returned from a one night stay booked through Travel Zoo. It certainly was a exceptional experience. On arrival the receptionist showed us to our room and carried our case for us, we were then served tea and scones in the lounge. The seven course taster menu was superb, our compliments go the chef and also to the friendly staff.... More

I have just finished a 3 day stay at Esseborne Manor whilst on business in Andover and can confirm that we will definitely be back. As a party of five we all enjoyed our stay and had the added bonus of spotting Downton Abbey actors whilst at breakfast. Essebourne Manor is in a wonderful rural location situated about 8 miles... We booked a Travelzoo offer which included the 7 course Tasting Menu and an overnight stay. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room which was in the courtyard - Ferndown. Large with high ceilings and a canopy bed which proved to be very comfortable. The en-suite was also larger than usual and contained a "jacuzzi" type bath and... More

Last year my wife underwent brain surgery to remove a tumour. She is not able to commit to a "holiday" at present, so we are making short breaks to nice hotels. Most of them have been booked through Travelzoo. I am now catching up with the reviews on Tripadvisor. We stayed at the Eseebourne on 28 February 2013. The welcome... More

I also took up the Travelzoo offer and also found the hotel staff welcoming and helpful. The tasitng menu gave us the the chance to try our 'inner MasterChef judge' - but in no way were we left hungry at the end! The recommended wines to accompany the meal are also an absolute bargain! Loved being in the middle of... More

Went on the Travelzoo offer with 3 other couples. Fantastic value. Lovely hotel with very efficient, friendly staff. We all had beautiful bedrooms with 4-poster beds, & beautiful views. Homemade shortbreads in the room, jacuzzi bath & multi-spray separate shower. Afternoon cream tea delicious with homemade scones. The 7 course dinner was outstanding - excellent flavours & presentation, with well... More

Perhaps they had overbooked and placed us somewhere others haven't been but we found the bedroom, shabby & in need of a refit and not at all like it sounded inn the advert. If this was half price no way would we pay £300 for the night!!! On arrival there was a gruff, sign here and where's your voucher. The tasting... More

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed a great deal at The Essebourne Manor Hotel, 3 *** and their Courtyard Restaurant ( Award winning AA 2 Rossette, I believe ) purchased through TravelZoo.com. Set in the beautiful North Downs, in the village of Hurstbourne Tarrant and a few miles away from Highclere Castle ( where Downton Abbey is/has been filmed );... More
