Nice little stop for a night whilst attending a concert in the city centre. Lovely little area with views of the quays. Room was spacious, warm, bed was a huge superking. Had an early wake up as a guest had put croissants in the toaster downstairs so fire alarm went off 🤣 . Breakfast was ok, vegetarian sausage made for me on request. Over all a nice stay. A bit further out of city than I usually stay but makes it quicker to access motorway home. Would visit again

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Salford Quays for one night, visiting RHS Bridgewater and Quarry Bank locally. The hotel was easy to find and there was plenty of paid parking at £7 a night. Check-in was friendly and our room was of a decent size with a view of Old Trafford across the water. Everything worked OK, apart from one of the two lifts which was a minor inconvenience. The free wifi worked well. The bed was large & comfortable, the bathroom was adequate & clean and the air-conditioning was most welcome on a hot evening. Breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express buffet and set us up well for the day ahead. As always beware of a scrum at peak times but the hotel was quiet for our stay so we had no issues. The Salford Quays tram stop is a 5-minute walk away and it was quick & easy to use the tram to get into central Manchester in the evening. It may be worth mentioning that the Salford Quays location itself seemed pretty soul-less and seemed to attract boy racers on the access road to the hotel which didn't add much to a feeling of security. Hopefully that doesn't cause regular issues.

Great little hotel with everything you need for a one night stopover; we were at The Lowry that night so it was very convenient. I agree it could do with a little updating but everything was clean, the bedding was spotless, the pillows were amazing (one hard, one soft; I've never had that choice from any 4star London hotel!) and the bed was very comfortable. Toiletries were provided as were teas, coffees etc, with the ability to top up from a cubicle by the foyer downstairs. Breakfast was plentiful, we were relatively early and whilst there was a a flurry of people about 8am which led to the meat platters being emptied they were quickly replenished. A point to note, the hotel was fully booked so had many to cater for, there wasn't a scrum for tables either. I thought £7 for 24 hour parking was perfectly reasonable for central Manchester. All the staff were helpful and friendly, I could not fault the stay. Thank you!

Hotel very basic but our room was clean, fresh and tidy. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We booked to visit the coronation street experience and was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There were plenty of restaurants around the location and a beefeater straight opposite. Overall a pleasant stay

Room 518 - fresh and clean. Shower woeful,no pressure and impossible to wash my hair. Breakfast was adequate. Space was too small and only 1 staff member on floor at 8am. Coffee machine in bar wasnt dispensing milk. Didn't have much interaction with staff so can't comment.

Terrible hotel. On arrival waited 15 minutes to check in as there was only 1 staff member between the bar and reception who had a queue of 3 people to serve before coming over to check us in. Breakfast was an absolute shambles, not enough staff, not enough space, not enough food. Service was appalling, two families in-front of us walked off before even attempting to go in. It was overcrowded, ran out of all food, drinks, cutlery, sauces anything you could imagine they didn’t have! We were having to watch our table while queuing for food to which several staff members came over multiple times to clear our table in the end we had to shout to the THIRD member of staff that had tried to clear it over the whole restaurant whilst queuing for food it was an absolute joke. If you are planning on staying definitely DO NOT PAY FOR BREAKFAST! The rooms were clean enough but that’s only thing going for it. Although the lighting in the room is absolutely dreadful!

Pretty tired rooms with minimum upkeep. Holes in walls where things have been removed. Carpets and furniture very tired and an abundance of sticky marks. Certainly not worth the £120/night plus parking. Staff lovely, and breakfast was ok.

We were visiting The Lowry Theatre to see a show in the evening so booked an overnight stay at the hotel as only a short walk away. We received a friendly reception on check-in. Room although a little dated was comfortable, spacious and clean. About two hours after check-in there was a fire drill. It was well organised by the staff who gave us a free drink for the inconvenience - thank you! We had a good sleep. The free breakfast next day was varied, hot & plentiful. A great start to our second day of exploring.

Wasn't an over whelming experience. Stayed here to use as a base for a visit to the Lowry centre, 8mins walk to get there. Check-in was quick and friendly, although given a discount code thought the parking was a bit excessive £7 for 24 hours. Do not use Booking.com to book a room over priced at £89. Staff friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Thou not accepting cash on the premises is ridiculous, cash is still legal tender, and to refuse is pretty dam pathetic, whilst sat in a some what cold room having a drink, there was a least 5 people offered to pay cash and all 5, including ourselves were told, card only payments. The room was clean and tidy, but again on the cool side , the air conditioning was extra and the storage heater failed to heat the room sufficiently. Shower gel and hair shampoo and hand wash was provided, as was towels too. Breakfast was OK choice of fruit and yoghurt, cereal and milk, bacon sausage, scrambled egg and beans, toast. Croissants jams etc. Orange and apple juice, choice of coffee capachino, latte etc, but coffee used is very bitter and not very nice

We arrived a little early 2.30pm and the room wasn’t ready but they allowed me to put bags in store and I grabbed a drink from the bar area. Our room was what you expect even if a little dated, biggest disappointment was the dirty carpet it really needs replacing, or at least a deep clean. We went out in the evening and had a good sleep, then arrived for breakfast at 8.15am, it was fairy busy but got seated in the end. I went to grab a hot breakfast but the food wasn’t replenished, only beans, and a few tired looking sausages. I grabbed a coffee and went back, still no eggs, bacon, or hash browns. My young daughter was getting a little restless but cerial was fully stocked. After a 3rd time still not hot items so I grabbed sausage and beans, not sure what happpend with the sausage as they normally very tasty but these have not been cooked correct, either fried and microwaved or warmed up from a previous day, very dry and almost hollow. We left very unhappy, I did ask why nothing was replenished, only to be told they had low stock after the new year. So they obviously new going into breakfast service, what was going to happen which was most disappointing and should have raised petty cash or gone over to the other Holiday inn to borrow some stock. Breakfast really is the last memory of a stay and ours was very disappointing.
