Stayed on the 1st Saturday in February. Had a really enjoyable stay. Stayed in the Gloucester Bedroom, It was fine, full of character, but the stairs leading directly to the room are pretty steep, so unless you have a bit of Billy Goat about you, then it may not be for you!!! Ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night,... More

My wife and I stayed in Thornbury Castle for one snowy Saturday night in February. We booked for dinner, bed and breakfast which I have to say proved to be excellent value. From reception we were taken to our room - the Duke's bedchamber, and even though we'd been told our open fire wasn't working we were pleased to see... More

My husband booked a suprise trip for me at Thornbury Castle for 2 nights in February. The trip was to mark my 40th Birthday, and he chose this place specifically because of its relevance to Tudor history. It is said that in the 1530's, Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn stayed in the castle, and specifically they stayed in the 'Dukes... More

My wife booked us in for a long weekend birthday treat for me in December. We had a lovely large room in one of the towers at the front of the hotel with a huge 4 poster and a gas fire. The kids had comfortable z beds. Sure it was expensive but we had a great time exploring the castle... More

We loved spending our night here. We arrived to the castle from the Bristol Parway train station, we took a bus and then walked around Thornbury until we reached the castle. Everything about it is amazing, the views, the staff, the scenery. I highly recommend it and I'd love to visit it again in the future! More

Me and my wife stayed here in October of 2011 for 3 nights. As soon as we arrived we were blown away by the grandeur of this venue. I spent over a year ironing out details for this 2 week trip. We stayed 4 nights in London, followed by 3 nights here, and ended with a 6 night stay in... More

Holy moly! This place was amazing. I am very into the Tudor history and to stay at a period castle was very much an experience. The rooms are magnificent. The grounds are impecable. The food and service are great! There is nothing bad that I can say about this place. It is totally worth an excursion from whatever larger city... More
