We returned there for an anniversary lunch, having been a number of times over the years. We found the atmosphere to be friendly and informal as usual, and the food to be better than ever. We ate from the a la carte, and were really impressed with the interesting flavours and freshness of the fish. Coffee and desserts were equally... More

myself and my partner were recently walking in Arlingham and decieded to call in at the old passage for a meal, we had 2 glasses of white wine, the wine was pleasant but not very well chilled, so we asked for some ice, the waitress asked us if we were eating, and we were sort of told off, and told... My Wife and I were treated to what was a fine example of the "warm hospitality" non diners can expect to receive if they dare to enter The Old Passage Inn on a warm sunny afternoon as we did yesterday. I find myself chuckling at the other bad reviews they receive here because it would seem they treat everyone the... More

My wife and I decided to have lunch after a walk by the Severn last Summer. We arrived early and took a table outside on the balcony, next to another couple who we quickly realised were being told off for sitting outside when they had booked a table inside! I asked to see a menu and was told to wait... More

Five of us went to the Old Pasage for a family birthday lunch and we all had wonderful meals, full of delicate flavours, striking colours and textures. We each chose a different fish main course, turbot, skate, plaice, bass and monk fish, each beautifully fresh and cooked to perfection. The deserts were equally good and beautifully presented. The wine we... More

We've been eating at the Passage for years, under the previous and current ownership and it's still great. This place suits us perfectly, a great setting and not over-fussy food.. and its only 6 miles from us, so what a bonus ! Don't go there if you're expecting a mixed grill.. its nearly all seafood, but their steaks are great

We went for a 'Birthday Breakfast', though hadn't stayed overnight. We had booked a table as requested on the website. We were slightly late, though the manager (?) was still very welcoming. We has a well positioned table, next to open french doors, with excellent views of the River Severn and beyond. Although a none fish eating veggie (this is... More

After a lovely walk along the Severn Way on a hot sunny day I stopped here with my wife for a drink. I spoke to either the owner or manager who didn’t seem to want us there (she looked at us rather like something she'd wiped off her shoe). I was told clearly that we could only sit at the... More

It is difficult to identify this lovely friendly place with some of the adverse comments on this site. We were treated wondefully from the moment we arrived and the evening food and breakfast was first class. The view of the Severn from the windows of our room was magical and we will certainly return. Go there, dine and book a... More
