Stayed for one night in mid may. We were lucky and were allocated a lovely bay window room overlooking the muddy Thames estuary. There were lots of little sailing boats zooming over the water and a few capsizing, good fun when you are watching. The room was very comfortable and clean with a well stocked hospitality tray, the bathroom not... More

Thank you for your kind comments it was unfortunate that the tide was out during your visit. I will address the bathroom troubles that you had during your stay. We are planning to refurbish some of our bathrooms including the two rooms with macerating machines. I am pleased that you enjoyed breakfast and look forward to seeing you again soon. More

Stayed here for one night 12th May 2012, A very nice and pleasant hotel and a lovely four poster room but probably a bit on the expensive side at £105, We booked this hotel because we were going to a show at the cliffs pavilion theartre and for that it is ideal because you can actually see the theartre from... Stayed with a group of friends so saw four of the rooms and they were all very nice! wouldn't have even noticed the 'giraffe' carpet unless it had been pointed out on these reviews.... good buffet breakfast, very cheap rooms (worked out at around £30 each per night), lovely location, friendly staff and would definitly stay here again. I was... More

Just back from a pleasant 2 night stay here. The hotel is nicely located very close to the Pavilions Theatre & approx 15 minutes scenic walk to the Pier or High Street. Check in was quick & friendly & even though my booking confirmation stated check in as being from 1400 hours onwards, my room was ready when I arrived... More

This hotel is of the old style - the lift can only hold one person and a bag :-) The hotel is full of nooks and crannies where you can sit and relax - maybe enjoy a drink. The location of the hotel is great - right on the sea front. Parking is available on the street - I was... More

We were pleasantly surprised given the previous reviews on Trip Advisor. We chose this hotel based upon ideal location for the Cliff Pavilion (2 minute walk) and near Southend town (10 minute walk). The room was clean, good TV, comfy bed and a functional bathroom. The only reason why we did not give this hotel five stars was that our... More

Stayed here for three nights in a single room. Service on check in was efficient and friendly. I was directed to the lift which was just big enough for my suitcase and i would not recommend for the claustrophobic! The corridor on the first floor had been painted and there was a overwhelming smell. The room was small but adequate,... More

Stayed there for one night. It is very convenient when seeing a show at The Cliffs Pavilion. We had a sea view room which was clean with a great big bath (also had a shower). The staff were lovely and polite but very friendly. The hotel looks out directly onto the estuary. I have stayed there before and would certainly... More

Stayed here for two nights for our friends wedding. Wasn't sure what to expect from the previous very mixed reviews. We were allocated a room on the forth floor but asked to be moved as I didn't like the tiny lift so were given a room on the third floor. I had requested a sea view room and we were... More
