Although there are a few bad reviews on here, I've got to say that I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The rooms although basic are huge in comparison with some hotels I've stayed in and have all the facilities you would need. The only downside of the rooms is that there is no air-con so can get a little... More

Don't do it. Horrible hotel. Very very noisy we did not sleep at all. Breakfast was horrible and cold. Staff very slow and useless. This hotel is a crash pad for club gowers getting in at 5am and playing music constantly. We stayed one night to visit friends never again. We off to a coffee shop now for a breakfast... More

Pretty good Bedroom. Basic, but very clean with a good bathroom with lots of hot water & fluffy towels. However the mattress on the bed was not the best so had a sore back in the morning! Reserve a room at the end of the corridor on second floor. This floor has red lights illuminating the darkish corridor! Hotel Car park is... More

Twin beds clipped together make a lousy double and guarantee backache. A bath with mold all round the edge seal and rusty chipped enamel? Surely you can do better? No method of closing the sink waste. There's a water shortage you know! Must be the only hotel where ITV channel is unavailable. Steer clear of 116!

Stayed here a few weekends ago (well maybe a month). We were down for a wedding and had noted on our confirmation that check in wasn't until 3pm. However, we phoned the night before and were informed that they could register us from 11.30am, the room would be empty but may not have been cleaned. We were more than happy... More

Not impressed with this hotel at all. Considering the price and its claims I would say it concentrates on the aesthetics as opposed to customer experience. Yes the decor is very retro-modern and the rooms at first glance look good, however, I wasnt impressed with the fact the executive rooms are supposed to come with a kingsize bed when in... More

Certainly a good hotel for business travel. Good service and nice restaurant for evening and breakfast. Bed a touch uncomfortable but certainly far from awful. Rooms clean. Would happily stay here again if I had meetings in Chelmsford.

We stayed here on 3rd March for the one night; On arrival, reception was not manned so had to wait around 10 minutes for someone to arrive. The receptionist was initially warm and friendly and said we could check into our room. When we entered the room I mentioned how cold it was and to our astonishment, when we went... More

Stayed here recently over a Thursday and Friday night whilst combining business with pleasure. Hotel itself is clean, welcoming and contemporary. Our room (227.....overlooking carpark) was spacious and comfortable, though the air conditioning unit was very noisy resulting in quite a sticky night. Unfortunately, on the Friday evening the hotel had a music and dine evening resulting in loud, and... More
