This is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities and very high standards of cleanliness. The quality of the restaurant was good but not the best. I thought that this was an expensive hotel in all and felt that it was better suited to the older generation rather than young couples and families. The staff were friendly. I had the worst night's sleep in this hotel, the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I don't have... More

I booked the hotel for two nights for my partners 30th birthday, it was a complete surprise for her. The hotel was excellent, with all the staff extremely helpful, you really are made to feel that you are the only people in the hotel. Room was lovely overlooking the park. We booked a dinner for the first night and the meal was outstanding, couldn't fault it and we really love our food! Lovely grounds with... More

A few days in the countryside convalescing was just what we needed following Terry’s new hip and my new knees. Where better to heal than in the magical heart of Ashdown Forest, in one of the most beautiful hotels in England. The staff could not have been more helpful. Ben (General Manager) arranged for us to have an easy access parking space, he upgraded us to a suite so that we could move around more... More

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, lovely location. Great range of dining options - casual bistro in the spa, smart dining in the restautant as well as 4 big lounges with open fires which serve everything from afternoon tea, to bar meals and cocktails. Hotel is set in large grounds which are ideal for a leisurely stroll and the hotel is in the middle of ashdown forest with options for walking, running, cycling or visiting country pubs. More

Arrived at 5pm on Saturday evening, very, very impressive and helpful reception staff. A young dutch lady looked after us, and had infact booked a table for dinner the night before as it appeared to be full via their website. Very friendly and efficient. This is infact the case with 99% of the staff there, well done! Concierge took us to our room, which was a good 2-3 minute walk from the reception desk. Enjoyed... More

Stayed a weekend here in January and thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in beautiful parkland and well away from towns and villages. A lovely spot for a tranquil rest. Hotel buildings are charming and up together. The Spa/Fitness Rooms/Beauty Salons in a more modern building are explemary too. Changing rooms there are immaculate. The Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Room, all complement the Swimming Pool. Table Tennis table and indoor Golf practice booths too. The Gym looked... More

We stayed in September 2011, to Celebrate My Birthday. Lots of Reviewers have already commented on the wonderful grounds, so I shall instead concentrate on the 'Experience'. Firstly, we were booked into one of the Fairway Suite Rooms, but, having completely unpacked, had to request a room change, due to the Occupants above (Regulars, we were told), having their Tv on warp factor 10!. Seriously, not being picky at all, but the lack of sound... More

Dear Mr M I continue to be extremely disappointed that we were unable to come to an agreeable resolution of the concerns you have with Ashdown Park, especially after the numerous conversations and correspondents with me and the Elite Hotels Operations Director. During one of our conversations we had agreed that there had been a degree of misunderstanding from all concerned and neither the staff, or any of the managers, had acted in a way... More

We stayed for one night for our wedding anniversary and it was amazing! From the moment we entered the building we were blown away by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff and a glorious log fire is a beautiful welcome in the reception area. The room we stayed in was stunning and wonderful attention to detail with fresh coffee maker provided and Molton Brown goodies in the bathroom. We had tea in one of... More

We have visited Ashdown Park for Dinner or Lunch a couple of times a year virtually since it opened and our son had his wedding reception there in 2010. It’s a fantastic location with some lovely old buildings so we had always wanted an excuse to stay for a few days. This year we took the plunge and booked the Christmas 3 day house party, even taking the dogs. The food and service can tend... More
